This harvest has been a tale of firsts for our Coonamble site 🌾   From trucks rolling in 10 days earlier than their usual kick off, to breaking our daily record for canola receivals by 2,000 tonnes - it's been a big season to say the least.   We caught up with GrainCorp Area Manager Tom Koerstz to hear how the team adapted to the early influx and how the season is shaping up for our northern NSW sites.   Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gS-2wd3s

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do - it helps us create a workplace where everyone can thrive.   Our Organisation Development Specialist Catherine Farrell spoke with NAWO on how our focus on inclusion has helped us exceed our female representation targets, while Quality Services Manager Abby Griffin shared how she's been supported in her career journey with us so far.   We might be biased, but we think it's a great read!

As part of our Case Study series with the Victorian Government Office for Women, we interviewed Abby Griffin and Catherine Farrell from GrainCorp to learn more about their approach to inclusion, and how putting inclusion at the heart of the organisation helped them generate momentum and surpass female representation targets. In just a few years, and as a result of shifting their focus from diversity to inclusion, GrainCorp have placed themselves firmly on the path of creating an environment where every individual feels valued and included - with some pretty impressive successes along the way! Today marks #NationalAgDay – a day dedicated to celebrating and learning more about Australia’s vital agriculture sector. 💚🌾 We’re celebrating all things agriculture today, but particularly the #sustainable practices that the industry continues to drive and champion every day. Sustainability is fundamental to our vision at GrainCorp to lead innovative agriculture through another century of growth. We’ve launched our 2024 Sustainability Report this week – it outlines what we’ve achieved so far, and our commitments going forward. Curious about what tarp recycling involves? Wondering how we’re trialling a low carbon canola supply chain? Or want to know more about how we give back to the communities we live and work in? Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/g-gX4wgy

We recently completed a $5 million upgrade at our Burren Junction site in NSW to enhance safety and efficiency, just in time for the 2024-2025 harvest. 🌾🌟 This included: 🚚 A new truck marshalling yard, accommodating up to 54 road trains. 🚧 Two additional weighbridges and additional sample stand. 🌾Four new bunkers, boosting storage capacity by over 100,000 tonnes. These upgrades mean a safer site, smoother traffic flows and improved facilities for our teams and drivers – helping us to better support local growers. The crops are looking fantastic across the region, and we can't wait to see the benefits these upgrades bring. Read more about the project here 👉 https://brnw.ch/21wOqLo

That's a wrap at Rochy! 🎨💛 The painting of the #GrainCorp silos in Rochester, Victoria wrapped up recently, bolstering their place on the popular Australian Silo Art Trail. Renowned contemporary artist Jimmy Dvate added his third instalment on site, featuring the New Holland Honeyeater - a tiny bird with a big heart. For Jimmy, bringing silos to life through art is a humbling experience, particularly for what it brings to the local community. “For me, it’s an amazing opportunity and a real honour to do something like this, especially coming back and seeing the difference the artwork can make,” says Jimmy. Rochester Business Network have been instrumental in bringing the project to life and we love seeing the town benefit from the addition of its third mural. Coming up Next…Building a low-emissions canola supply chain 🌱   We’re launching our new initiative, GrainCorp Next, to create a viable low emission grains and oilseeds supply chain.   By connecting farmgate to final product, GrainCorp Next supports growers to adopt even more sustainable farming practices while incorporating renewable energy sources and other practical interventions into GrainCorp’s supply chain.   Initially, the program will focus on canola - a crop that is highly integrated with our operations, from handling to seed crush and oil refining.   14 growers across NSW and VIC have joined the program this year, and they’re currently in the process of mapping their individual farm emissions with Nutrien Ag Solutions - Australia to create a baseline for their farm.   Interested to learn more? Several of our people from across our business attended the Diversity Council Australia Ltd's Diversity Debate this week.   At GrainCorp, Inclusion is at the heart of what we do. From achieving the narrowest Gender Pay Gap in the ASX200, to walking the talk with our Innovate Reconciliation Action plan, we're creating an environment where all our people can thrive. #WeCare #WeDoWhatsRight

What a great debate 🎤 on whether polarisation is holding back diversity and inclusion at the Diversity Council Australia Ltd event. It is not every day we get to engage in conversations where challenging ideas were met with openness, humor, and insights. Personal highlights were Patricia Karvelas who expertly moderated the debate + Dee Madigan and Michael Hing. Thank you Gary Hegarty for hosting the event for GrainCorp. Whilst the food was fantastic, the company was even better!Moments like these remind me how critical it is to keep these discussions alive, as they shape the future of inclusive and diverse leadership and workplaces. I feel very privileged to be working at GrainCorp where values of #wecare and #wedowhatsright are key to driving inclusivity and diversity.
