WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action 2024 is observed on 17th November. Today, we recognise the critical contributions of frontline health workers in the fight against cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a significant health issue affecting women worldwide, primarily caused by persistent infection with high-risk strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). Fortunately, Australia has an active screening test and vaccine programme for cervical cancer, which ensures that Australia has one of the lowest rates of cervical cancer in the world. Unfortunately, not all countries have such a screening and vaccination programme in place. In order to reduce the prevalence of cervical cancer, the World Health Organization has set the following goals: ✔ 90% of girls fully vaccinated with HPV vaccine by age 15 years ✔70% of women are screened with a high-performance test by 35 years of age and again by 45 years of age ✔90% of women identified with cervical disease receive treatment (90% of women with precancer treated, and 90% of women with invasive cancer managed). Raising awareness about risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of screening is crucial to combating this disease. GreenLight Clinical (GLC), as a CRO, is committed to advancing healthcare with global efforts to eliminate cervical cancer. Please join us in supporting cervical cancer prevention. Let's empower women to take charge of their health and advocate for increased access to education and healthcare resources. #CervicalCancer #GreenLightClinical #ClinicalTrial #MedicalAffairs

November 14 has been chosen as World Diabetes Day to raise awareness of this debilitating disease. The incidence of #diabetes has been steadily increasing globally, particularly with increased obesity and metabolic syndrome associated with poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Besides complications with wound healing and increased risk of infections, eye health is severely impacted. Conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular oedema, cataracts, and glaucoma are frequently found in diabetics and can lead to irreversible blindness. If you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes, now is a good opportunity to see your eye doctor for a routine exam. At GreenLight Clinical, we have been driven by a passion for advances in ocular medicine and treatments. Our team of experts has over 70 cumulative years of experience in ophthalmology clinical trials and are ready to help you through your clinical trial journey.
