Congratulations to PHINIA on its direct hydrogen injection race car – the six-cylinder Alpenglow! Unlike traditional hydrogen fuel cells, which quietly generate electricity, Alpenglow’s six-cylinder engine burns hydrogen directly, meaning more noise and drama. This technology reinforces the recognition that hydrogen’s future isn’t limited to fuel cells - combustion engines also have a role to play in high-performance motorsport. We can't wait to see the Alpenglow take to the track and demonstrate what hydrogen-powered racing can achieve. https://lnkd.in/gZuxg7pk
PHINIA injects more power into Alpine’s Alpenglow hydrogen racer 🏎️ 🏁⚡️ PHINIA is turning up the boost on hydrogen-powered motorsport, partnering with Alpine Racing to supply cutting-edge direct hydrogen injectors for the Alpenglow V6 racer. The firm has also just renewed ties with the BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team, keeping its name firmly in the fast lane of high-performance racing. Alpine’s Alpenglow is one mean race car, but it also serves as a rolling test bed for hydrogen combustion engines, proving you can have high-revving drama, without the carbon hangover. Unlike more contemporary hydrogen fuel cells that quietly generate electricity, Alpenglow’s six-cylinder engine burns hydrogen the old-school way – meaning noise, theatre, and proper racing pedigree. PHINIA’s “DI-CHG” direct hydrogen injectors sit at the heart of this setup, delivering precise fuel doses to ensure clean combustion and serious performance. First shown off at the Paris Motor Show, the six-cylinder Alpenglow Hy6 follows last year’s four-cylinder version, which flexed its muscles at Spa and Le Mans, with none other than football legend Zinedine Zidane along for the ride. Alpine Racing’s Chief Engineer for Hydrogen, Pierre-Jean Tardy, is backing the project all the way. He said: “PHINIA’s expertise in fuel systems and advanced injector technology is critical to making Alpenglow a reality. “Together, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in motorsport.” Interestingly, the same chap, who is leading Alpine’s hydrogen engine design for “racing and sport cars applications”, has been designing Formula 1 engines for the last 20 years for Alpine’s parent group – Renault. Interesting… Away from hydrogen, PHINIA has also announced it’s extending its partnership with... Check out this impressive line-up of seven Toyota #Mirai FCEVs at the Wiri Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Auckland! We've been hard at work, refuelling these vehicles back-to-back with the H2H Energy H2CORE Refueller at New Zealand's first green hydrogen fast refuelling station, proudly owned by Halcyon Power and operated by Coregas Pty Ltd - a Wesfarmers company. Wiri in South Auckland is a hub for logistics companies, just 7km from Auckland Airport and 30km from central Auckland. This strategic location positions the station well to meet the growing demand for hydrogen fuel, not only for FCEVs, but also for future hydrogen-powered aircraft when they take to the skies. Congratulations to New Zealand for growing the hydrogen economy. We're thrilled to be a part of it!

Congratulations to Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차) for leading the way with fuel cell cars! We suspect the INITIUM is essentially the next-generation NEXO, which was launched back in 2018. Given the timeline, we expect this new model shouldn't be too far away. The INITIUM looks fantastic and would make a great addition to the Australian market, especially with our love for SUVs. We’re definitely excited about the day we can fill one up with an H2H Energy refueller! #Hyundai #FuelCellCars #HyundaiINITIUM #NEXO #SUVs #HydrogenPower #Innovation https://lnkd.in/g4i47PpK

Big news for fuel cell vehicles! Extreme E is making the shift to hydrogen with the FIA 'Extreme H' World Cup season, and it’s almost here! All 25 hydrogen race cars are built and ready to roll in 2025! Now all Extreme H needs is some portable, reliable hydrogen refuelling stations! We happen to know someone they can call 😉 https://lnkd.in/gTYijSVH
Extreme E: All “Pioneer 25” cars now built for 2025 Extreme H World Cup 🏎️🏁⚡️ Good news! Extreme E’s transition to hydrogen power with the first-ever FIA Extreme H World Cup season is officially one step closer to reality. Extreme H has announced that all 10 Pioneer 25 hydrogen race cars have been built and are ready for action in 2025. Built by Spark Racing Technology - the brains behind Extreme E’s electric off-roaders and Formula E’s current generation of race cars - these vehicles are primed to make history in the world’s first hydrogen-powered off-road racing championship. Alejandro Agag, the boss of Extreme E and Extreme H, visited Spark’s headquarters near Paris to see the finished cars. Reflecting on the achievement, he said: “These cars are not just groundbreaking in terms of technology; they represent the future of sustainable motorsport, and we are ready to go” The Pioneer 25 is a hydrogen-powered off-road vehicle designed to take on some of the harshest terrains in the world. Each car features a Symbio-sourced 75kW hydrogen fuel cell that powers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering 400kW (550hp). Despite weighing 2,200kg, the Pioneer 25 sprints from 0-60 mph (100kph) in just 4.5 seconds and climbs gradients as steep as 130%. Nicolas Wertans, Chairman of Spark Racing Technology, highlighted the importance of this achievement, saying: “These vehicles will set a new standard for hydrogen-powered competition and inspire the future of clean energy solutions.” The Pioneer 25 has undergone rigorous testing equivalent to three full racing seasons, proving its durability and performance across mud, rocks, and rough terrain. Teams competing in the series will all start with the same chassis and drivetrain, but will have the freedom to tweak... Another throwback, this time from 2014! Our CEO Cranston Polson was proud to be part of this groundbreaking project – installing the United States Marine Corps Hydrogen Refuelling Station at Marine Corps Base Kaneohe. The construction of the station marked the first step in helping the Marine Corps start using hydrogen-powered vehicles in their fleet and explore new cleaner fuels in the military more widely. #Hydrogen #CleanEnergy # #MarineCorps #Hawaii #HydrogenInfrastructure #H2HEnergy

Throwback to 2015! Hyundai Motor Company Australia proudly introduced the ix35, Australia's first fuel cell light vehicle. In line with Hyundai's commitment to safety, we completed first responder training with Fire and Rescue NSW, one of the first sessions to take place in Australia. Fast forward to today, the ix35 was replaced by the NEXO SUV in 2018, and soon, the exciting #Initium is set to take the lead – believed to be the successor to the NEXO. The future of hydrogen-powered SUVs is looking bright! #Hyundai #FuelCell #NEXO #Nitum #FirstResponders #Throwback
