About us

The HADR Institute is a registered charity and Public Benevolent Institute (PBI) that enables Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief efforts. We provide anticipatory capabilities for organisations where there is the need and aligned purpose but not the capacity. This lack of capacity could be human resources, knowledge, financial or otherwise. We fill those gaps where they are needed to protect life and preserve dignity. We are committed to enhancing human security outcomes through high quality services for NGOs, government, benefit corporations and community response. We do this through professional analytical and research services, accessible decision-enhancing technology and operational crisis support services. We publish a weekly newsletter with educational resources, reporting and regular insights into disasters and disaster intelligence. • 🌍 Join Us This Giving Tuesday! 🌍 Today, 03 December 2024, marks Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity and action to support causes that make a difference. At the HADR Institute, we are proud of the incredible impacts we’ve made this past quarter—but we need your help to achieve even more in 2025. What We’ve Achieved This Quarter: ✅ Provided clean water for thousands of affected people, for the next decade, with our partners to displaced communities in Myanmar and on the Thai Border through our Operation Myanmar Humanitarian Support. Solutions built to last up to 10 years, ensuring long-term resilience. ✅ Conducted a humanitarian access mission in Karen State, identifying critical barriers to aid delivery and preparing actionable insights for practitioners. Reports to be released shortly. ✅ Began designing a 2025 program for Chin State, integrating humanitarian aid and human rights protection to serve one of Myanmar’s most vulnerable regions. ✅ Expanded efforts in the Pacific, collaborating with communities in Tonga, Vanuatu, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Kiribati, to foster resilience, mutual aid, and localisation. We are also continuing our efforts in Papua New Guinea and the Enga Disaster Resilience Initiative (EDRI) Why Your Support Matters We are a small and growing charity. We don’t receive government funding or have large philanthropic donors. Instead, we count on a community of supporters and our partners—people like you—to make our mission possible. Your generosity fuels life-changing programs that directly support vulnerable communities across Asia and the Pacific. Together, we’ve already touched thousands of lives. With your help, we can expand these efforts in 2025. Be Part of the Change Today 🌟 Every donation makes a difference. Join us this Giving Tuesday to save lives across the most vulnerable communities in the Asia Pacific. Build resilience and create lasting change. 🌟 👉 Click here to donate https://lnkd.in/gaN2QEZ7 Thank you for believing in the power of collective generosity. Together, we can make a world of difference. #GivingTuesday #HumanitarianAid #AsiaPacific #SupportNonprofits #HADRInstitute

  • FALE Pacifika AGM 2024: Driving Localised Humanitarian Action The Pacific Humanitarian FALE (Facility Aiding Locally-led Engagement) empowers local civil society across the Pacific to tackle climate-driven challenges like cyclones, floods, and droughts. Rooted in Pacific values, FALE fosters locally-led humanitarian action, with PIANGO connecting members from a diverse range of countries and territories. Recently, the HADR Institute participated in the FALE Pacifika Annual General Meeting, engaging with FALE hub leads from Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, and Fiji. Importantly, this was located in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, in an effort to foster further collaboration between the FALE and PIANGO with Papua New Guinea. Highlights included workshops from key leaders like ADRA International, Airlink, Inc., Humanitarian Advisory Group and ICVA Network, discussions on Papua New Guinea potentially joining the FALE community, and strategic planning. It was great to really see the insightful thought leadership from Humanitarian Advisory Group, from anticipatory action and greening to localisation approaches, to be so clearly taking form with the FALE initiatives. A key outcome for HADRI was that we proudly committed to sharing knowledge as a FALE NGO partner, with the start of some collaborative high impact plans for 2025 and beyond. We are excited to see where this goes. Key Takeaways: 1. Localisation Works: Pacific leadership is at the forefront of integrating anticipatory action with local knowledge. 2. Collaboration is Key: There is strong support for using technology to enhance coordination from the grassroots up. Thanks to: Akmal Ali and Emeline Siale Ilolahia for their leadership in FALE and PIANGO. All of the Pacific hubs for welcoming new partners like The HADR Institute (HADRI) and Save Our Supplies and of course, Airlink, Inc., & Claire Leow for their amazing support providing leadership for iNGOs and supporting developing humanitarian institutions in the Asia Pacific. We are excited to collaborate further with this incredible community in 2025! #HumanitarianAction #PacificLeadership #Resilience #DRR Emeline Siale Ilolahia Akmal Ali Claire Leow Keya Saha-Chaudhury Beth Eggleston Sesimani Lokotui Claire Lane Selicia Ronolea Josaia Tokoni Sepesa Rasili Inia Barry Willie Tokon Jamie Yau
