The energy transition puzzle has a missing piece: early-stage investment in asset-heavy infrastructure. What role do you think the private sector, governments, or new financing models could play in funding this critical stage of the energy transition? As we push forward in the energy transition, certain industries—steel, cement, heavy transport—remain challenging to decarbonise. These “hard-to-abate” sectors are complex when it comes to emissions reduction (cement, steel, intercontinental transport). Many solutions are not deep tech, but they’re not low-risk either. They exist in a “funding valley of death”—too early/risky for traditional infrastructure investors yet too capital-intensive for venture capital funds. As a result, the technical solutions that could make the biggest impact in these sectors often struggle to secure the funding they need, ultimately delaying or stopping the energy transition. By finding this piece , we can unlock scalable, real-world solutions for sectors that account for a significant share of global emissions—creating a pathway for them to transform and thrive in a low-carbon future. Demand for green shipping fuels is critical to drive manufacturing capacity. Nike is decarbonising their activity in partnership with Maersk. Who are other companies supporting green fuel uptake by decarbonising their logistics supply chains? @greenmethanol, @energytransition Follow HAMR - Fuelling a Sustainable Future, an Australian renewable fuels company developing fuel to hard to abate sectors. https://lnkd.in/grSHux7J
All the Way to Zero 🤝 Move to Zero. We rely on strong partnerships to move in the right direction and decarbonise logistics 🌱 Nike - with their own climate targets and a valuable partner for Maersk - recently christened our 4th large methanol-enabled vessel at the Port of Los Angeles, representing our close logistics and sustainability partnership. We asked Nike’s Chief Supply Chain Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy, and Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc, to elaborate on the close connection between one of the world’s leading athletic apparel and footwear brands, and Maersk as its transportation and logistics provider. #Allthewaytozero #Movetozero #Logistics #Nike #Maersk

HAMR receiving grant funding of its renewable methanol project collaboration with UK company Supercritical was recently announced. HAMR is working with Monash University in Australia to study cost effective renewable fuel pathways. Renewable methanol is a low carbon fuel and chemical used as ship fuel and in making everyday chemicals and SAF. The Grant in Australia is funded by DCCEEW. #renewablemethanol #SAF #energytransition UK-Australia collaborations announced for renewable hydrogen projects https://lnkd.in/eQGXPz_j

This week Donald Fraser and David Stribley represented HAMR - Fuelling a Sustainable Future at the Singapore International Bunkering Conference (SiBCON) hosted by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The event focused on accelerating the maritime fuel transition; some key highlights for the team; 1. Clear regulations will be key to meeting the IMO's interim decarbonisation targets (70% by 2040.. big challenge!). 2. Collaboration across the sectors, from fuel producers, ship lines and customers will be key to meeting the IMOs targets 3. All fuels will be needed in the future, and different fuels will likely be used for different sectors (obviously we think #Methanol is a pretty good choice!), Biofuels will be critical to meet near term targets. It was great couple of days. Get in touch with HAMR - Fuelling a Sustainable Future if you are looking for #biofuels or #GreenMethanol. #Methanol #GreenMethanol #Bunkering
