About us
With a strong focus on teamwork, speed, skill and strength, hockey has been thrilling Olympic audiences since 1908. Hockey WA provides an annual program of events, competitions and development activities for players of all ages in the metropolitan area as well as regional, remote and rural areas. As the governing body for hockey in the State, the organisation is in a very unique position as it is home to some of the best facilities in the country and indeed the world. Furthermore, both Australian national teams - the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos - are based in Perth and are integrated into the State’s local competition. Hockey WA connects people by developing and delivering programs and competitions that drive participation, inclusion and lasting involvement in the sport.

Our WA Burras and Jillaroos have officially qualified for the Junior World Cup after defeating New Zealand to become Oceania Champions! 🏆 Over the weekend, the Burras defeated the Junior Black Sticks 1-0 on Saturday and backed it up with a thrilling 2-2 (3-2 SO) shootout win on Sunday, with Ian Grobbelaar scoring in the 7th minute. The Jillaroos kept up their strong form over the weekend with a 4-2 win over New Zealand on Saturday, followed by a 2-2 draw on Sunday.
