The holiday season can be a difficult time for those in need. This December, our offices teamed up with some of our long standing Social Justice Fund charity partners to collect hamper donations. In Sydney, our donations supported Youth Off The Streets, a not-for-profit organisation working with young people, their families and the broader community to offer safety, support and tangible opportunities. Our Brisbane office had the privilege of collaborating with Brisbane Youth Service to provide pantry essentials and treats for young people in need, supporting those who are struggling to afford basic food items. The Melbourne office worked with DjirraVIC, an organisation providing practical support to First Nations people who have or are currently experiencing family violence by donating food items to support them during this time of year. Thank you to all who donated! Learn more about our community involvement efforts below. #YouthofftheStreets #Djirra #BrisbaneYouthService #HRpeople #givingback

Together with Canberra Youth Theatre, we're proud to announce Sarah Matthews as the winner of the 2024 Emerging Playwright Commission. Sarah's play, 'The Hit List', dives into the complexities of sexism and gender-based violence during the final days of Year 12 muck-up week. It's a bold exploration of class, gender, and institutional responses, brought to life through an ensemble cast of eight characters. Chosen from over 60 submissions nationwide, Sarah's work exemplifies the creativity and courage this program seeks to foster. This partnership between Holding Redlich and Canberra Youth Theatre highlights our long-standing commitment to supporting the arts and nurturing emerging voices. Elizabeth Carroll, Head of our Canberra Office, shared: "We are excited to see Sarah's play and will continue to support the Commission and Canberra Youth Theatre in the years to come." Luke Rogers, Artistic Director & CEO of Canberra Youth Theatre, emphasised the importance of the Commission in providing a platform for young writers. He notes the program's legacy of supporting the next generation of playwrights and its role in fostering creativity, artistic excellence, and innovation, helping young voices make their mark on Australian theatre. Read more about Sarah and the program in the comments. Stay tuned for her play! #AustralianTheatre #WomenInTheArts #NextGenCreatives #EmergingPlaywright
