The debt free alternative for older Australians to find financial peace of mind in retirement.
About us
Since 2005, Homesafe Wealth Release has been assisting over 60s to find financial independence by using the wealth tied up in their homes - when they need it most. Why do we do what we do? We believe that homeowners over the age of 60, should have the option to use the value built up in their home to fund their lifestyle or retirement plans. Equity release products are not for everybody - however there are a growing number of older homeowners who are seeking to pay off debt, avoid the need to sell and move from the home they love, to 'age in place', or to fund a more comfortable lifestyle. Our solution is one option which can help achieve this. We believe in what we do and our team is united by our vision to change the lives of seniors for the better. How does it work? Homesafe Wealth Release is not a reverse mortgage or a loan product, but provides the ability for a homeowner to sell an interest in the future sale proceeds of their home and receive a cash payment for that share in today's terms i.e the net present value of the future share. The homeowner controls when they sell their home - thereby ensuring their rights to remain in the home are fully protected - and if they sell earlier than when Homesafe originally assumed under its discounted approach, then Homesafe's share is reduced, to account for the shorter period. With Homesafe, the homeowner can 'cap' the share sold to Homesafe, with the peace of mind knowing that the share they did not sell will always be protected. The family home is now recognised as the 'fourth pillar' of our retirement system, and whilst the aged care pension, downsizing, reverse mortgages, financial support from family members, etc. are ways to provide cashflow, Homesafe Wealth Release provides an innovative way to help achieve a self-funded retirement approach, without debt.

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible journey of change and evolution we experienced in 2024. This year, we had the privilege of continuing to help more Australians over 60 unlock the equity in their homes, providing them with the financial freedom to live the life they deserve - debt free. It has been a year of change, growth, meaningful connections, and staying true to our promise to deliver a fair and ethical solution to our customers. We couldn’t have achieved this without the unwavering support of our dedicated team, valued partners, and, most importantly, the customers who have placed their trust in us. To everyone who has supported Homesafe in any way this year—thank you. Your encouragement and support means the world to us. As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited about the opportunities to continue making a positive difference in the lives of our customers. From all of us at Homesafe, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, and happy New Year. #ThankYou #Reflection #Homesafe #Christmas2024 #LookingAhead

Great to see the launch of a debt free alternative for older homeowners by Lifetime Retirement Home in NZ. Their "Lifetime Home" solution, modelled on the Homesafe debt free approach, will provide homeowners who are asset-rich but income-poor with a new way to maintain a reasonable standard of living while continuing to live in their homes. A great initiaitive to assist NZ retirees to live comfortably in retirement! #retirement #retirementfunding #debtfree #equityrelease #NZ

The Actuaries Institute paper released today, with observations credited to Andrew Boal of Deloitte, sheds welcome light on the rising trend of using home equity to fund retirement, emphasizing its significant potential for financial security among older homeowners. We are pleased to see increased awareness of equity release solutions and their crucial role in supporting our aging population, particularly the push for 'longevity literacy,' a concept that has historically been underappreciated or misunderstood. Now is the time for the wider industry, advisory market, and media to invest in understanding these solutions, with informed review, as well as recognizing the opportunity cost for many older Australians, if an equity release path is not taken. #RetirementPlanning #HomeEquity #FinancialSecurity #Transparency #CustomerEducation
