  • 💛 R U OK? Day is a reminder that every day is the right day to check in on those around us, especially with the theme for #RUOKDay2024 being "Ask R U OK? Any Day." We would like to say a big thank you to Brady and the team at Brady Marcs Buyers Advisory for their generosity in delivering cupcakes to the women at HKWS for R U OK Day. 💐 We are so thankful to our thoughtful community and the different ways you support the shelter #HKWS #RUOKDay2024 #BradyMarcsBuyersAdvisory

  • 🌻 Today is the International Day of Charity, which falls within 'Include a Charity Week' (2 - 8 September) - a national campaign to raise awareness of the powerful legacy you can leave by including a charity in your Will. We have partnered with Gathered Here to provide a free online Will writing service for all our supporters. It is easy to write your Will using the online platform, and you can update it anytime at no cost. When creating your Will there is absolutely no obligation to include HKWS. We know a Will is very personal and may change over time. Should you choose to use the free service to write your Will, and pledge a gift to HKWS, your generosity will have a lasting impact. Your gift is an investment in the women who seek our care. ❤️ If you would like to have a confidential chat about leaving a gift in your Will, or if you would like more information, please contact Joy at joy@hkws.org.au. If you have already named HKWS in your Will, please let us know so we can thank you and give you an update on the impact your gift will have 🥰 Head to the link in our bio for more info https://lnkd.in/dbT2aNgx #IncludeACharityWeek #GiftsinWill #GatheredHere #HKWS #InternationalDayofCharity

  • 📝 Here are two inspiring notes written to Angelica, our wonderful Shelter Lead, by two recent residents. THIS is the impact your support has. Every woman who walks through our doors is greeted with kindness. In our safe and secure shelter, she embarks on a journey. Guided by Angelica, our team of experienced and compassionate case workers walk beside each resident, every step of the way. 💕 Please consider joining us in making a tangible difference in the lives of women in crisis by making a donation before June 30 at https://lnkd.in/g43VCuzw Your support will have a profound impact and help us continue our vital work and create a safer, more compassionate community for all. Thank you. 🙏

  • It was wonderful to have the HKWS staff, board and committee together at Barker College for our annual strategy day last Sunday, planning for the year ahead. With commitments made to continue to care for, and help women in our community who are experiencing domestic abuse and homelessness. A massive thank you to Barker College for providing a room for the team to meet in for the day, Nick McArdle for being a special guest as a HKWS ambassador, and the staff from Women's Community Shelters for their support.
