Supporting the HR Profession to be more impactful. Realising the power of HR in building great cultures.
About us
We fundamentally believe that the impact of HR to create great companies and great cultures is undeniable. We equally believe that the key to great cultures, great companies and great leaders is emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is your super power. There is no question that HR is a hard gig. You don’t learn what you need from formal training. Over the years of managing large HR teams, we could never find relevant, applicable training, so we created our own based on our own tried and tested wins and losses. Our adaptive model for HR influence, built around emotional intelligence competencies, has been our key to success. We have learnt that it’s not about a love of people, rather a love of building great culture as the linchpin to people thriving! You need to be great at strategy, commercially astute, and you must be influential – if HR doesn’t have a strong voice at the table, it is very challenging to deliver results. Our approach to HR Strategy is unique and we leverage our expertise across many industries to understand the “what” and the “why” and incorporate data and analytics to get below the surface. We deliver a truly customised approach, not off the shelf. We do not plagiarise McKinsey or Bain and rebadge it for our strategy work, we use our own proven models and methods. And the best part - we are not consultants! We are practitioners, who have done the job for 30 years. The learning journey is lifelong – there is always room to grow.

In the recent Sage Research Report, “The Changing Face of HR in 2024“, it was revealed that a whopping 63% of C-suite leaders still view HR primarily through the lens of administration. In this same research, 91% of HR leaders stated they have the skills to be CEOs but only 13% are prioritising financial performance. Many HR practitioners say they are strategic, but could it be “strategic” through a lens of admin, policy policing, and a ‘back of house’ mentality, using only rules and policies to influence, rather than a commercial whole of business focus? A global survey by a leading Management Consulting firm stated 79% of HR professionals are not equipped to handle the challenges businesses will face over the next 5 years. Only one in 3 skills HR needed in 2018 are redundant now. HR faces a critical skill gap to support the innovation, growth and resilience business needs to compete in today’s world. Why the stagnation? Our call to action is to start with 2 simple things now to build credibility and restore the reputation of HR as a profession.
