The Hume Employment and Learning Committee (Hume ELC) aims to strengthen employment and learning opportunities across the Hume precinct through: Linking residents to local jobs and training opportunities Organising ongoing employment campaigns and supporting local employment initiatives. The ELC is a formal committee in Hume bringing together employment and learning providers to support the Hume community is to maximise employment and learning opportunities for Hume residents. The Hume ELC is represented by Job Active providers, Disability Employment Services (DES) providers, Jobs Victoria Employment Network providers, Department of Human Services (DHS), Hume City Council, Hume Whittlesea LLEN and Local Training providers. (Purpose) To provide a consultative forum that brings together a collaboration of employment and learning providers to support the Hume community in maximising employment and learning opportunities. (Objective) To support innovative local employment and learning strategies through: Committing to an exchange of information and resources Establish and promote the ELC branding to improve employment and training outcomes for the Hume community Building collective agency capacity; and Supporting, committing to and implementing localised initiatives that support Hume’s Local Jobs for Local People and the Committee’s action agenda
