Last week in Meanjin, Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC), in the spirit of Connecting, brought together our strategic clients, partners and Indigenous consortium partners for a relaxed gathering to celebrate the continuing success of our partnerships.   iDiC was so proud to host this near “Black Out” event which, from the feedback, left everyone incredibly inspired by the level of passion, energy and collaboration between our partners throughout the evening. Deadly!   Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for what was an incredible celebration of Indigenous culture, Indigenous business and of the significant contributions of our strategic clients, who partner with iDiC to identify opportunities to work with our Indigenous business partners.   A huge shout out to our consortium partner Mick Hall and his partner Emily, for hosting us at their fabulous venue, Casa De loco #casadelocabrisbane Casa De Loco is a popular Australian / Latin fusion Restaurant and Bar in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. From the incredible food to the professional, friendly staff, we could not recommend Casa De loco more highly!    A big thank you also to the incredibly talented Ben Barker who entertained us during the evening with his melodic guitar instrumentals, haunting didge and alternate rock riffs - Ben’s music is a true testament to sharing his dreaming and experience. Ben is a Biripi / Dunghutti musician and artist combining the didgeridoo and guitar simultaneously, creating a fusion between tradition and contemporary. Congratulations Supply Nation for a fabulous Supply Nation Connect 2024 event held in Meanjin this year, the first time on the beautiful Turrbal and Jagera country.    Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) was privileged to attend the Indigenous Business Tradeshow and Gala Awards Dinner last Thursday at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Supply Nation Connect is always a fabulous opportunity for us to connect with our Industry and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business partners to celebrate the success of the Indigenous Business sector.   It was incredible to see the growing support for our sector from corporate organisations and government departments represented at this year’s event. Empowering our customers to drive impactful change for business and society is so fundamental to what we do. That's why it was wonderful to speak with Payam Rahimi, Head of Procurement, Fujitsu APAC today about the great work Fujitsu are doing with the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) and SAP Ariba to support First Nations owned suppliers. By using SAP Ariba, Fujitsu have not only transformed their procurement function into a business-centric model, they've successfully increased the spend towards third-party First Nations suppliers from $200,000 to over $4.5M over the past few years.
