Serving to make lasting positive change

Well... these beautiful flowers came today as I finished off my last day AND the last of my interviews for the Impact Club investors. Together we have been crafting a kind of "love letter" to the world, to help demystify impact investing. Many members of the club have been "lighting the way" for impact investing in Australia for years, but given the intense privacy of the ecosystem, much of their work has gone undocumented.... until now! We have almost completed the draft -😄 - And hope to share this incredible insight in coming weeks. Those who are interested to explore the motivations, common themes, barriers and vision for impact investing in Australia- watch this space! I am sad to leave these incredibly inspiring folk - I will miss our deep conversations and the innovations of the impact businesses who came along the path. Such meaningful work to do in the impact space... I know I won't be moving far. Now for a short break - and who knows where the wind will take me next??!!!🌏💚

  • An extraordinary day spent with amazing impact investors and colleagues across the sector. This is what our Club is all about; sharing thoughts, experiences and taking action. What a delight to share intentional conversations with purpose at the very heart. Today was all about investment in the environment, biodiversity and climate action. Our next will be Social and Health related initiates in Sydney early 2025. Let us know if you want to find out more!

  • For the past few months we have been gathering the thoughts of investors around the themes of Environment, Biodiversity and Climate Action. Hot topics for discussion have emerged; Capitalism, growth and planetary boundaries, systems investing, reimagining Venture Capital and Private Equity for impact, the intersection between people, profit and planet, investing and divesting for future generations, the urgency of Climate Action: the mix of policy, market levers and democracy. Next week we gather with 50 of our members, colleagues and friends in Melbourne for a full day to dive deeply into these themes, and work through the tangible actions we can take together. Our next thematic day will focus on major themes of social and health impact investing. It will be another amazing session full of insight and action. Impact investing is galvanising action around some of the most critical and dynamic issues of our time. If you are an impact investor, or want to be part of this amazing movement, contact elise@impactclub.org.au

  • Sir Ronald Cohen has shared that the International Advisory Board for Social Innovation of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research has released their Vision for 30 Billion by 2030 STRUCTURE: Seven levers for an innovative economy and society. This builds on the "National Strategy for Social Innovation and Social Enterprises" [1] adopted by the German government in September 2023 and aims to inspire Germany to develop into a "Social Impact Republic". This means that social innovations will become more prevalent in business, politics, science and society. Private wealth has been slow to value the role social benefit plays in investments to date. The seven levers offer the opportunity to realise the billion-euro potential of social innovations with a manageable amount of funding, with the possibility of generating added value of € 30 billion by 2030.

A copy of Rosemary Addis's speech at the Impact Investment Summit for you . She talks about our roles as impact investors being the fulcrum in these times of critical choices: fear and hope, aspiration and vision, what we can do next, how economists have got it wrong and we need new models. The need for a holistic approach, an ecosystem that comes together and distributive leadership. Thanks for sharing Rosemary Addis. https://lnkd.in/gy8uekdY
