Developing a fully integrated lithium project in Spain, from mining to producing lithium hydroxide battery grade.

About us

Infinity Lithium Corporation is an Australian listed minerals company and, in partnership with Valoriza Mineria, is seeking to develop the San Jose Lithium Project and produce battery grade lithium hydroxide. Supply response is needed to satisfy Europe’s burgeoning energy storage needs through feeding the large-scale battery plants currently under construction. The San Jose deposit is a highly advanced, previously mined brownfields development opportunity representing one of Europe’s largest lithium deposits. Infinity Lithium will mine the hard rock Mica resource and develop processing facilities to provide what would currently be the sole European mine-to-end-product lithium hydroxide operation.

  • Experts from the University of Extremadura have prepared a report which highlights the potential opportunity the San José Lithium Project presents for Extremadura including revenues of approximately 114 million euros per year for the region. The Project has the potential to create significant positive change to a community which has experienced its fair share of unemployment and economic hardship, with a focus on maintaining the environmental and cultural aspects which are important to them.

  • Infinity Lithium is pleased to provide its Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending 30 September 2024. As regional authorities continue to work through the assessment of the San José Lithium Project's Exploitation Concession Application, the Company has made strategic changes over the period in order to manage costs as it moves towards being fully permitted. The Company has also submitted an application to be recognised by the European Commission as a Strategic Project under the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act. • T&E, one of Europe's leading advocacy groups for clean transport and energy have released a briefing paper which paints a good picture on the current and future state of lithium production in Europe. The paper references Infinity Lithium's Li-Stream RPK process as an example of how addressing process efficiency can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Infinity Lithium is pleased to provide its annual report for the financial year ended 30 June 2024. In what has been a volatile year for the Lithium market, the Company has progressed the San José Lithium Project to its most advanced point to date with highlights including the lodgement and progression of the Project’s Exploitation Concession Application, the regional government of Extremadura classifying San José as a project of regional and general interest or “PREMIA”, the Award of an 18.8 million euro grant by the Spanish government and the completion of an Updated Scoping Study which included an underground mine and conversion process which has the potential to increase the Project’s output to over 33,000tpa of Lithium hydroxide. As Europe continues to strive for it's green future and to protect its own auto industry, San José is well positioned to cornerstone the region's development of an EV value chain which will be critical to its future success. For more details on these and other operational highlights from the year, as well as all the information contained in the report, please see the following link: https://bit.ly/3MV5t92

  • Europe has many of the raw materials it needs to be more self-reliant. It also has a deep history in mining with San José itself originally being a tin mine up until the 1960's. As everything evolves, Europe has learnt from its experiences in regards to sustainability and best practice and has installed some of the most stringent requirements globally. Infinity Lithium has redesigned the San José Lithium Project over the years to continually improve the Project from a social and environmental perspective, to the point where we have an underground mine and integrated conversion process with one of the lowest CO2 emission rates for integrated hard rock lithium mining and conversion globally. Europe has the opportunity to secure more of its own critical raw materials without sacrificing the environmental values it prides itself on. https://lnkd.in/egqNYf5F

  • High cost sources of Chinese lithium raw materials are finally under pressure and the recent closure of a major mine potentially marks the beginnings of a turnaround in sentiment. Vertically integrated players can take a haircut upstream for only so long, and with geopolitical tensions playing out through EV tariffs in Europe, Canada and the US, where will reliable lithium chemicals be sourced for regional supply chains? San Jose is a resource to battery chemical project located in western Europe, and benefits from one of the largest lithium resources in the EU. With so many European upstream LiB or automakers curtailing or deferring commitments, Europe's future EV industry will hang in the balance until these localised or regional supply chains are supported.

  • Infinity Lithium has seen significantly advancements at San José on the back of a now executed permitting strategy for the submission of the Project's Exploitation Concession Application. The quarter ended 30 June 2024 included the recognition of a viable lithium resource as the first stage of permitting milestone, which provided the right to then lodge major project documentation. Infinity Lithium was also pleased to announce the recognition of San José as PREMIA project, strategically significant for the region of Extremadura, and an accelerated permitting pathway available following this key milestone.
