August was a highly volatile month for financial markets, driven by disappointing tech earnings, a rate hike from the Bank of Japan, and concerns over China’s economic growth. The US dollar’s strength further impacted global markets, adding to the instability. Domestically, large-cap equities saw marginal gains, while small-cap equities suffered due to weak commodity prices. Emerging markets also struggled, reflecting China’s economic challenges. Despite attractive valuations in emerging markets compared to developed ones, the ongoing deflationary slowdown in China’s economy is expected to continue hindering growth in the short to medium term. Discover how Infinity is navigating market volatility with insights from CIO Piers Bolger. Watch now: https://lnkd.in/g7zGMefK
