These Guides better support people with intellectual or learning disabilities, people with English as a second language, older Australians, and people with low literacy in NSW. About us
The Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC) is an independent statutory authority that administers NSW’s legislation dealing with privacy and access to government information. We were established on 1 January 2011 to support the Information Commissioner and the Privacy Commissioner in fulfilling their legislative responsibilities and functions, and ensure individuals and agencies can access consistent information, guidance and coordinated training about information access and privacy matters. Our Strategic Plan outlines our commitment to Engagement, Operational Excellence, Rights Promotion, and Impact, through strategic imperatives and measurements, and underpinned by our Regulatory Framework. The Information Commissioner and CEO is Ms Rachel McCallum and the Acting Privacy Commissioner is Ms Sonia Minutillo.

The Information and Privacy Commission provides education for NSW public sector staff working with the GIPA Act, PPIP Act and HRIP Act through the IPC e-Learning portal.
