The Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) has recently released its new Easy English Guides to provide members of the public with the simple information they need to understand their information access and privacy rights. These Guides better support people with intellectual or learning disabilities, people with English as a second language, older Australians, and people with low literacy in NSW. Multicultural March 2025 celebrates community harmony and diversity in NSW. The Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) importantly upholds citizens’ rights to access government information and privacy, promoting equality and inclusion for all people in NSW. The IPC has many translated guidance materials to support public participation and access to information by diverse NSW communities. The Information and Privacy Commission NSW has a checklist for citizens to assist them in completing their GIPA applications and ensure their information access request is clear and specific. The Information and Privacy Commission provides education for NSW public sector staff working with the GIPA Act, PPIP Act and HRIP Act through the IPC e-Learning portal. A number of free online training modules across privacy and government information access legislation are available on the portal, including Access Training for Decision Makers under the GIPA Act, Privacy Complaints Handling Under the PPIP Act, and MNDB Scheme training modules.
