✨ The Future of Healthcare Innovation is Here! ✨ Last week, we celebrated the exciting finale of the Rivernet Health Tech ProtoComp with an inspiring showcase event at Innovation Central Brisbane! Over the past three months, four exceptional student teams from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) have collaborated with Rivernet Communications and key healthcare stakeholders from Cisco, bdna, Metro North Health, and Metro South Health to tackle critical challenges in digital health, creating innovative solutions that could transform the sector. Guided by Rivernet’s mentorship and informed by the expertise of healthcare professionals, these students demonstrated not only technical skills but also a deep understanding of the complexities within our healthcare systems. Here’s what the teams developed: 💡CareTag – NFC-enabled wristbands to streamline hospital check-ins and provide emergency responders with immediate access to critical patient information. 💡 Hourglass – A predictive scheduling platform aimed at improving hospital workflows and minimising patient wait times. 💡 CareLink – A smart communication tool replacing paper forms in healthcare settings, offering broader applications for festivals and large-scale events. 💡 SixthSense – An AI-powered monitoring system that automates critical scoring to prevent patient deterioration, delivering timely alerts to healthcare providers. Read more about their projects here: https://lnkd.in/gysSpxt6 Our heartfelt thanks to our program partner, Rivernet Communications, for their unwavering support and mentorship throughout this journey. A special shoutout to Gideon Street, Scott Kirk, Brooke Powell, Michael Berndt, Ben Weber, Arne Bier, Danielle Mansfield for their invaluable guidance, and to the industry partners for their engagement and insights - Dr Jason Brown, Cameron Ballantine, Nazli Seghar, Brad Caird, Ryan Sheppard, and Karyn Smith. This showcase wraps up ICB's student-focused initiatives for 2024, closing a year of impactful collaboration and innovation. While this program concludes, these prototypes represent just the beginning of what could become transformative solutions for healthcare. 🎉 Cameron Newton Reg Johnson James Stewart Gemma Alker GAICD ♾ Crystal Cooke Vibhor Pandey Laura Hurtado Lopez

🌟 Why Innovation Thrives on Collaboration 🌟 At the heart of every breakthrough lies a simple truth: we’re better when we work together. Whether it’s reshaping healthcare, transforming education, or driving sustainability, collaboration is the cornerstone of meaningful innovation. When diverse minds unite—bringing different skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table—we unlock the potential to solve complex challenges in ways we never could alone. Take the Rivernet Communications Health Tech ProtoComp, for example. Over the past three months, QUT (Queensland University of Technology) students worked under the guidance of industry mentors and healthcare stakeholders, bridging the gap between academic curiosity and real-world impact. Together, they developed practical solutions designed to improve efficiencies and rethink how we approach healthcare in Australia. This isn’t just a win for the students; it’s a testament to what’s possible when industry and education work hand-in-hand. Programs like these not only foster innovation but also build the talent pipeline for the future—empowering the next generation to tackle challenges with confidence and creativity. So, how do we continue to create these moments of connection? By leaning into collaboration and embracing the idea that the best solutions come from shared vision and collective effort. 💡 What’s a recent collaboration that inspired you? Let’s share and celebrate the power of partnerships. https://lnkd.in/gvq8vBXn #Collaboration #Innovation #ThoughtLeadership #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork
