Diagnostic & Remedial Engineering Consultancy - Facades and Structures
About us
Issues associated with the performance of building elements can have significant implications on the safety or functionality of a building or structure. The cause of the issue and its mechanism/s are often difficult to determine, particularly where there are several contributing factors. Insite Engineering adopt a pragmatic approach to building diagnostics, with the level of detail of the inspection/investigation tailored to the issue at hand. We are able to assess all forms of structures using industrial rope access and other high access techniques, permitting a close-up site-based assessment that provides our clients with a high degree of confidence that their asset is being comprehensively assessed. Our assessments broadly comprise: - Compliance with construction documentation - Emergency assessment of risk to public safety - Condition of cladding materials and systems - Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) & Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) cladding assessment & investigation - Assessment of remaining service life - Cause & source of water leaks. Our team members have a thorough knowledge of all forms of structures and we offer a suite of services that include not only inspection and diagnosis, but also the formulation of repair and maintenance strategies. We have extensive experience in assisting our clients with formulating repair and maintenance strategies and developing the optimum remedial solution for numerous issues, including: - Spalling & cracking concrete - Detaching render or other applied finishes - Chemical deterioration & degradation of materials - Water penetration through façades and roofs - Rectification of poor construction practices - Cladding deficiencies. Remedial projects require engineering input to ensure the process complies to technical engineering criteria, and the applicable industry codes and standards. Insite provide live project stewardship and PC services to ensure this very important process achieves the desired outcome.

Huge congratulations to Allan Pham who graduated yesterday! Allan has been working as an undergrad at Insite for over two years whilst undertaking his studies at RMIT here in Melbourne. Kudos to you for all your hard work and dedication during the past few years and we look forward to seeing what the future brings for you in this engineering field we all find ourselves in. PS. You pull off those aviators better than most 😎

Summer facade inspections at Insite hit different!! Currently completing a comprehensive facade audit of a 3 year old 44 storey residential tower on behalf of the owners committee. Fantastic to work for an OC that understands the value of what we do. After the first day the remedial cost of the defects highlighted will more than cover the cost of our inspection and will no doubt be pushed back to the builder as the facade components are still under its ten year warranty.

Another successful remedial project recently completed, how good does it look! The project included initial hands on investigation, material composition analysis, render and concrete repairs, waterproofing of the overhanging cornice and the application of a protective coating system. Kudos to the MRS team and Vertitech Australia for their involvement.
PROJECT | HERITAGE FACADE REMEDIATION Our Asset & Facility Management Advisory team in Melbourne are delighted to have recently completed a heritage facade remediation project at 1 Malop Street, Geelong, for our valued Client Quintessential. The project involved carrying out a condition assessment on the facade, development of a technical works specification, heritage and statutory planning applications, and the rectification of defects and restoration of the facade. Additionally, the project required re-coating all previously coated facade surfaces and application of a waterproofing membrane system to the parapet cornice. We thank WorkSafe Victoria, who were a great tenant to work with throughout the project, as well as JLL, Insite Engineering Pty Ltd and the Vertitech team for their diligent work, contributing to the achievement of a fantastic, high-quality result. #MRSProperty #Facade #Remedial #Projects #Quintessential

Linkedin connections!! Has anyone any recommendations for good companies that provide branded company clothing and site wear. So, shirts, jackets, t-shirts, jumpers etc... Struggling to get a one stop shop that does it all. Thanks in advance.

Another week, another comprehensive hands on, visual condition assessment of a residential tower completed in sunny Melbourne. This inspection was undertaken by three of our trained and qualified engineers using all our own rope access equipment without the need for external rope access contractors, meaning we covered more of the facade surface area in less time, resulting in cost savings for our client whilst they received the highest technical outcome. #melbourne #facades #consultants #engineers #buildings #insiteengineering #experts

Factual Thursday.. Hands on visual inspections by trained professionals are far more detailed, cost effective and accurate than current AI / drone / technology offerings. Typical example of an issue that only hands on inspections would have identified, note we see this type of stuff weekly. Looking forward to some open discussion from other industry colleagues in the comments below. We also have an opportunity for an AI / drone / technology company to inspect an asset which we have recently completed so we can cross examine results, costs and differences generally and share this information with the property industry. #Anytakers?
