With financing being a major challenge, NKG Bloom partnered with global banks to create a $25 million Smallholder Livelihoods Financing Facility, giving farmers easy access to loans. The goal? Become an Industry leader in Australia by offering deforestation-free certified coffee! 🌿🌍  The EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR) has taken effect to combat global forest loss and protect biodiversity. Starting December 30, 2024, coffee imported to the EU must comply with strict deforestation regulations.  NKG is fully committed to aligning with EUDR through enhanced supply chain traceability and support for smallholder coffee farmers. We see this as an opportunity to strengthen relationships, protect forests, and ensure a sustainable coffee future.  We are well-positioned to implement the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR) through several key initiatives: 🌱 Supply Chain Programs: NKG’s Supply Chain Integrity Program (SCIP), NKG Verified, and smallholder support through NKG Bloom ensure robust traceability and sustainable practices. 🌱 Supplier Code of Conduct: NKG’s guidelines for suppliers align with EUDR standards, promoting responsible sourcing and compliance. 🌱 Due Diligence System: Partnering with osapiens, NKG is developing a comprehensive due diligence system to ensure traceability and compliance across the supply chain. 🌱 Geodata & Deforestation Checks: High-quality geodata and deforestation checks are being integrated into the system to ensure coffee complies with the new regulations. 🌱 On-Ground Support: NKG’s field staff work directly with suppliers to enhance compliance and protect forests, ensuring up to 4 million bags of EUDR-aligned coffee by the end of 2024. These efforts ensure NKG is prepared to meet EUDR requirements while supporting sustainable coffee production globally.
