It is also the second consecutive year that the team has been recognised in this way, after winning the Crown Property Services Contractor Health and Safety Award in 2024! Waste audits are essential for helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals. Recently, ISS partnered with Shrunk Innovation Group to turn trash into data treasure at Canberra Hospital. We sorted, weighed and analysed over 300-350kg of waste for deeper insights into the hospital’s clinical, general and commingled waste streams for our client Canberra Health Services. By understanding these waste streams better, we can refine and implement more efficient recycling and waste-reduction strategies, so that our client can: 👉 Boost efficiency: identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve recycling. 👉 Reduce their environmental footprint: minimising landfill waste and maximising resource recovery. 👉 Enhance operations: streamlining waste management processes. 👉 Build for the future: this audit establishes a baseline for ongoing initiatives, including capability building through a comprehensive waste management plan, implementing effective waste education programs, and partnering with CHS to further strengthen our sustainability strategy now and into the future. 2024 was an exciting year for ISS 🌟. I’m proud that we delivered on our financial targets, achieving organic growth of 6.3%, an operating margin of 5%, and a free cash flow of DKK 2 billion. We also secured contract extensions with key customers and took critical steps to strengthen our organisation. I’m also pleased that our strong financial position enables us to initiate a new share buyback programme of DKK 2.5 billion, over the next 12 months. Moving forward, we’re committed to driving solid, profitable growth, and I’m highly confident that we’re in a position to do so. We’ve refreshed the OneISS Strategy and introduced three key priorities: customer-centric growth, efficiency, and becoming the world’s leading frontline employer. We’ve also aligned the Executive Group Management (EGM) team with the updated strategic priorities to ensure implementation with pace and quality. This involved reducing the EGM to five members and adjusting the scope and responsibilities of some existing roles. With this sharpened focus and stronger foundation, I’m confident that we’re in a position to grow our current market share of 1% in the massive global facility management market. I’m very excited about the year ahead and I look forward to advancing our goals with our 325,000+ placemakers worldwide, who are the true drivers of ISS’s success 🙌. ISS has introduced a Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) at The Northern Hospital, Epping making recycling easy for staff and patients. Collection bins for drink cans, bottles and cartons are strategically located throughout the hospital, with all proceeds supporting the Northern Health Foundation. “The Container Deposit Scheme is an initiative we are introducing at Northern Health in partnership with Return-It ," said Saj Amerasinghe, Key Account Manager, ISS. “This marks the second healthcare site in Victoria where ISS has implemented this initiative, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and community support. The program also highlights the strong partnership between ISS and Northern Health, merging environmental sustainability with community support,” Saj added. “We are delighted to partner with ISS to roll out the CDS collection service across Northern Hospital,” says Cr. Rick Garotti, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Northern Health. “This is an easy way for staff and our patients to support the Foundation and our environment – every bottle deposited into a CDS container rather than a general bin reduces our landfill.” Plans are already underway to expand the CDS to more Northern Health sites by March 2025. #PeopleMakePlaces #Healthcare #Recycle #Sustainability
