QDSA is proud to announce 𝟯𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 is one of the five winning projects of the QDSA 2024 Collaborative Research Grants (CRG). The exceptional thermal properties, strength-to-weight potential, and intrinsic insulation capabilities of ceramic sandwich structures make them highly desirable for load-bearing structural applications in emerging hypersonic aircraft. The overall objective of this project is to 3D print and test ceramic structures for thermal management in emerging hypersonic applications. Congratulations to Prof Elsa Antunes from James Cook University, collaborating with UQ Strategic Partnerships and Lockheed Martin Australia. We look forward to the advancements this research will bring to Defence. Learn more about the 2024 QDSA CRGs: https://lnkd.in/gFB7Kuvu
