Recently, our Johns Lyng Makesafe Builders team were quickly called to assist at the Preston Cash Converters site following a fire incident. We acted immediately to secure the premises, installing temporary fencing and hoarding to safeguard the area and mitigate any additional risks. Since then, RestorX Services has been engaged to assist with the removal of contents, while we continue to collaborate with local authorities to meet the necessary Emergency Orders. Next steps include partial demolition and re-securing the building, with work set to commence as early as next week once the required permits are issued. Johns Lyng Group are proud of our team's rapid response and commitment to supporting the owners and community during this challenging time. #PrestonFire #BuildingCommunities #Makesafe #Restorx #RespondingFastBuildingStrong

Completed annually, Johns Lyng Group’s Contractor Forums have been held across Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney, where we connected with over 350 valued contractors. These sessions provided an opportunity to reflect on key topics over the past year and some headlines for the next 12 months. Key topics of discussion included operational and client updates, as well as specific health and safety matters such as the recent ban on engineered stone as well as recent case studies related to high risk work activities including working with asbestos. In Brisbane and Sydney, guest speakers delivered asbestos awareness training, focusing on common locations of asbestos across residential and commercial buildings. These forums continue to provide a positive networking experience for our contractors and staff as well as communicating key safety and compliance requirements. These are all critical topics that contribute to our safety culture at JLG. We will finalise this year’s series of events with our final Contractor Forum to be held in Perth, in December. Thank you to our team for contributing to these sessions and connecting with our valued contractors. Johns Lyng Group would like to congratulate Mandira Panday on receiving a sole Commendation at the recent 2024 NAWIC VICTORIA Awards for Excellence, for her Project Delivery Award nomination. These awards are a celebration of excellence, innovation, and empowerment within the construction industry. Mandira was nominated for this award in recognition of her role in delivering the October 2022 Flood Recovery Works for Emergency Recovery Victoria, which saw severe flooding, impacting 63 out of Victoria’s 79 councils. With over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, Mandira coordinated with various engineering consultants, electricians and hygienists to create a surge workforce model which can now be deployed in response to any catastrophic events.
