Our Australian Adaptive Judo Team last week took a massive step forward yet again, finally making it to the EJU get together in Venray Netherlands with all the assistance we could from Judo Australia. We look forward (and can’t wait) to host the first ever South Pacific Adaptive Open in August 2025 with support from our European Judo friends. Much work to be done! A historic moment, and commitment for Judo in Australia in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission and all our State/Territory Federations. The release of the Judo in Australia Participation Plan, in line with the vision of the ASC Play Well Strategy.

Incredible work in Judo being undertaken in South Australia. “Besides safe landing skills, we’re also looking at outcomes like physical function, balance, strength, fear of falling and quality of life, so we’re actually closing the gap between falls prevention and how to come up from the ground.” Dynamic Balance - A new program developed by members of Judo Australia to assist older community members to fall in a safer manner inspired by skills taught in Judo.

A new and exciting chapter for Para Judo in Australia. Para Judo is specifically for vision impaired athletes, and takes an incredible level of skill and determination to not only succeed in this highly technical sport, but to coach. With the greatest thanks to Paralympics Australia. We could spend thousands on production, but we want every cent to go to our athletes. ;-) Enjoy.

This huge, and brave step forward taken by Member Sports and the AIS was one of the best things to happen to our Elite Judo Athletes. Not only to prepare for an Olympic Games, but to realise their true potential, and achieve their dreams. Judo Australia are currently tendering for a new Australian Team Uniform Partner. We hope to partner with a great brand for both the LA Cycle, with an option to extend through to Brisbane. The newly designed team uniform will support our Cadet and Junior Pathway athletes, coaches and supporters, through to our Senior Australian Teams.
