🔎💡Insights from an Intern at Jupiter Ionics: Meet Samuel Wait... As Sam nears the end of his Mechanical Engineer internship with us, whilst completing his degree in Aerospace Engineering🧑🎓🚀, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on his journey since joining our team in December 2023, before he takes off for the next chapter in his career. 🛫 🥏 Over the past year, under the guidance and mentorship of our more senior engineers, the likes of Dr Saeed Mouloodi, PhD, highlighted to us that Sam not only showed a real dedication to his work with minimal supervision, he played a key role in supporting our Product Development team, contributing to the design, simulation and manufacturing of parts and components that shape the electrochemical cells and stacks that our team are using as a part of their experimental protocols for production of green ammonia. 🧊🧩 ✨ We asked Sam some questions about his intern experience with us... 🔹 What attracted you to intern with Jupiter Ionics, and motivated your decision to apply? I was excited to work with Jupiter Ionics for its technical projects and sustainability focus, offering a unique chance to collaborate with experts and gain experience in the evolving field of sustainable chemistry, especially Green Ammonia. 🔹 What has been your main focus/initiative you’ve worked on, that had a direct impact at Jupiter Ionics? As a mechanical engineering intern, I optimized Jupiter Ionics’s technology by redesigning the flow channels using CFD to balance pressure loss and flow uniformity, leading to a scale-up prototype design. 🔹 What do you think your greatest learning has been from working with Jupiter Ionics? Industry problems are more complex than university ones, requiring quick learning and leveraging co-workers’ expertise, especially at Jupiter, where access to university-level resources is a unique advantage for the company. 🔹 Apart from featuring on this LinkedIn post 😆, what would you say has been the highlight or most rewarding aspect of your experience with us so far? The most rewarding part of my experience has been contributing to a project from conceptual design to testing and prototyping, which has broadened my understanding of technology development and highlighted the progress and milestones achieved through teamwork. 🔹 What skills or knowledge did you gain during your internship that you feel will be most valuable for your future career? I gained skills in project tracking, management, and documentation for large-scale projects, enhanced my communication abilities to effectively address issues with various stakeholders, all of which will be valuable in my future career. 🎉 We wish Sam all the best with his future, we know he is certain to make a positive impact and has a bright career ahead of him. 🌞👏 University of Melbourne #Internship #CareerDevelopment #StudentOpportunities #Engineering #JupiterIonics #MonashUniversity
About us
