Veronica first joined Marriott International in 2002 as an At Your Service agent at Courtyard by Marriott Surfers Paradise and tapped into the Front Office department shortly after. In 2004, Veronica began her Reservation journey at Marriott Surfers Paradise, now, Veronica is a mother to two very active boys and continues to grow as an individual and team player. At different stages of her life, Veronica navigates her life experiences with the support of her compassionate leaders who helped her boost her confidence and commended her for her ongoing loyalty and dedication. Natalie Jordaan, began her journey with Marriott International just over a year ago with JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as Assistant Director of Sales. Natalie is a natural leader, a collaborative member and an active listener to her colleagues. Natalie works closely with internal and external stakeholders, becoming the point of contact in the Sales Department and delivers memorable experiences for guests throughout their time with the resort, from the likes of events, conferences, meetings and more. Knowing that guests and visitors have a seamless journey with the resort gives Natalie a rewarding and appreciative motivation. Natalie expresses in her own words, “I love that we embrace the principles and ethos of the brand and strive to get things done right”, which adds a sense of prestige as the forefront of JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa.   Every day is a unique day for Natalie at work, she is strategic and collaborative, always celebrating her and the teams big and small wins when great results are achieved. Commuting all the way from Brisbane to the Gold Coast daily is a challenging feat on itself, but Natalie takes this opportunity to learn, by integrating her hobbies of listening to podcasts and audiobooks to develop her knowledge and highlight key lessons. Natalie plays a vital role in the Sales Department and aspires to progress further in her career with Marriott International’s managing roles, and actively contribute to strategy planning and exceeding overall sales performance. Appreciating Women in Leadership with JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa! Sarah Pape, the Assistant Restaurant Manager of JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa’s signature restaurant, Citrique, first started her journey with Marriott International in August 2015 as a Food and Beverage (F&B) attendant. Establishing her foundation with Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, Sarah excels with a wealth of experience in the F&B department. Sarah’s proactive role progressed further with her aim to guide, lead and collaboratively work with her team members, putting her team members first and foremost.   Through her growth and achievements within Marriott International, she relocated and joined the pre-opening team for W Sydney, becoming the Assistant Restaurant and Bar Manager for BTWN and making it the highlight of her career so far. By leading and collaborating with 70 new associates, Sarah contributed to establishing and strengthening a foundation beyond rewarding, from building structure, training, opening and commitment to make it better day by day. Marriott International has become a portal for her to grow and progress, valuing her talent and provide her with a harmonious environment that appreciates her efforts, where she states, “I have been lucky to have amazing managers that have doubled as mentors”.   Sarah now resides back on the Gold Coast, joining JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa in 2024. Sarah expresses her contentment at JW Marriott, “the family feel here of the team is not only rewarding but heartwarming and it makes all of the difference”.
