Our hearts go out to those impacted by the recent devastating floods in North Queensland and thank those who have worked tirelessly to support the recovery efforts. Our Ingham and Fairfield Central Kmart stores came together to support the community during this incredibly difficult time. They donated bedding and clothing to the community with support of the local Salvation Army branch, who have been providing access to much-needed supplies now that a temporary bridge has been set up, allowing support vehicles to safely cross. We are so grateful that all our team members are safe and our store is back trading in Ingham as the community begins to rebuild. A big call out to our Ingham store manager Megan Gardner and Fairfield Central store manager Tegan Oke who have shown incredible leadership in such challenging times. Our thoughts are with those in Northern Western Australia as they prepare for extreme weather.

As the Lunar New Year celebrations wrap up, we’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate with our team members. This year, we welcomed the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom, intuition and transformation – qualities that resonate deeply with our values. We had the honour of hosting a special performance by the Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne, which included a lion dance that featured one of our very own Kmart team members, Richard Nguyen, Inventory BI Specialist! A special shout-out to our team members in Asia who are also celebrating the Lunar New Year. We’re proud to have such a diverse, global family that comes together to mark this special occasion.

Thanks to the generosity of so many families across Australia and New Zealand, we’ve been able to have our biggest Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal to date – raising more than $10.3 million of value to the community in 2024.🎄✨🎁 We are truly blown away by the support of our communities, who have rallied together to make a real difference to families all around Australia and New Zealand this year - especially when it was a tough year for so many. As always, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our dedicated stores team members, our partners, The Salvation Army Australia and The Salvation Army New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga & Samoa and finally – our customers who helped make Christmas and the festive season brighter for those in need. 🙌 Special thanks to: Anthony Albanese The Hon. Every year the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal highlights the generosity of so many people within our local communities. Infinity Group Australia is one group in particular who have been giving generously to the Appeal for many years now, and in 2024 they once again rallied behind the Appeal with some incredible contributions - with the team not only contributing $40,000 worth of gifts towards the Appeal, but Graeme and Rebecca Holm also generously paying off the all the laybys in our Kmart Robina store in December. On behalf of Kmart, The Salvation Army Australia and the Robina community, we want to share our thanks to Infinity and all our corporate partners for brightening the lives of so many of their local community members.

Some days are just too much fun to forget! Last Thursday, we kicked off Christmas and the holiday season in style with our much-loved Family Day event at our head office – the building was buzzing with festive cheer as our team members and their loved ones got into the spirit with a meet and greet with Santa, face painting, cookie decorating and so many special moments that created memories to last a lifetime. We’re wishing all our incredible team members, customers and suppliers a joyful Christmas and festive holiday season! 🎅🎨✨🎁

Today John Gualtieri and Alexandra Staley hosted the Deputy Premier of New South Wales and Minister for Western Sydney, the Honourable Prue Car at our St Mary's store - to kick off our Double Donation Weekend. For this weekend only, Kmart is going to double all monetary donations made to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in-store and online. During the visit, we also connected with Major Paul Moulds from The Salvation Army and visited the local community centre to see the difference this support makes first-hand.
