The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has finalised the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) rezonings for the following precincts: Macquarie Park, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Hornsby, Bankstown, Crows Nest, and Homebush. These changes came into effect on 27 November 2024. Key points include: • A precinct-wide minimum affordable housing rate of 3%, with higher rates for specific sites. • A new planning State Significant Development (SSD) pathway to support TOD development, effective from 27 November 2024. This aims to expedite housing delivery by: ➥ Providing a temporary SSD pathway until 30 November 2027 for residential development applications valued over $60 million. ➥ Removing some Development Application (DA) referral requirements. ➥ Replacing design competitions with a faster approval pathway. Was an exciting atmosphere in our Sydney head office last night as we hosted professional athletes and clients at The WattleNest "Winning Connections" networking event. The WattleNest helps Australian current and future sports champions compete on the International Stage through strategic partnerships. The event featured an incredible line-up of athletes who shared their journeys and dedication both on the panel and throughout the audience. Nathan Hauritz, former Australian cricketer and WattleNest ambassador, inspired attendees with his story of transitioning from sport to business. His passion for making sport accessible to all and his brave sharing of the struggles faced during this transition were truly moving. The Guthrie Sisters, Bella and Jasmin, Australian representative track and field athletes, made their panel speaking debut. Their journey towards the 2028 LA Olympics is one to watch, and shared their story on balancing work, training and study. Thank you to The WattleNest, for your work in building a community for athletes and connecting business and sport allowing athletes to reach their full potential. The stories shared and connections made will have a lasting impact.
