Making lithium sulfur batteries a reality.
About us
With climate change driving the move to renewable energy and electric vehicles the demand for batteries is forecast to increase 10x by 2030. To drive this growth, there needs to be a better battery and Li-S Energy is pioneering that change. Our new lithium sulfur and lithium metal technology will power the world’s future by delivering lighter batteries with more than twice the energy density and — with no heavy metals — offer a cleaner and greener alternative. Our unique technology is ideal for low-weight applications such as aviation, defence and heavy EVs and is set to revolutionise the industry.

I support Dominic's viewpoint 100%. Australian Made should mean Australian Made! Here at Li-S Energy we are one of the only companies making battery cells in Australia. We see pioneers like Vaulta and PowerPlus Energy investing in local manufacturing and jobs to make battery packs with high Australian content - lets support these guys rather than the Kangaroo Sticker jockeys flooding our market with "Australian made" Asian battery packs! #powerplus #australianmade #vaulta #lisenergy

The Li-S Energy 2024 Annual Report is here and highlights the notable achievements and milestones we’ve accomplished for FY24. It’s been a remarkable year, and we’re excited to share some of our key milestones with you including: ✔ We’ve successfully commissioned our Phase 3 facility featuring Australia’s largest and most complex 2MWh pouch cell production facility, housed in the nation's largest battery dry room. ✔ We developed scalable, automated processes for cutting, forming, stacking, and welding lithium metal anodes, paving the way for enhanced lithium sulfur and lithium metal pouch cell production. ✔ We completed a comprehensive Battery Testing Centre, equipped with state-of-the-art performance and safety testing facilities. ✔ Installation of a smaller-format cell production line has begun, addressing the growing demands of smaller devices, security, and defence applications. ✔ We’re progressing with the design and production of commercial-scale 20Ah lithium sulfur cells, and we’ve successfully produced our first cells using GEN3 semisolid-state technology for internal testing. ✔ We’ve developed a low-flammability electrolyte that has successfully passed both civilian and US Military nail penetration tests, enhancing cell safety. ✔ Our prototype intelligent battery management system (BMS) is in the works. ✔ We're thrilled to have secured over $3.05m in grant funding for our "dawn until dusk" drone project in collaboration with V-TOL Aerospace and Halocell, along with a grant to extend our Phase 3 production line to include lithium foil and laminate production.
