In 2018 Energy Ministers agreed that minimum energy performance standards for Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps would be introduced in Australia under the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Act 2012 (communique available here). These regulations are close to being finalised.   The Dept of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is holding information sessions on the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) registration system. The department recognises that some LED suppliers may not be familiar with the GEMS product registration and regulation system.   The small group sessions will take you through the registration process for compact fluorescent lamps. And you can ask questions of technical experts on the proposed LED minimum energy performance standards. Info sessions are on 5/12/24. For further details email info@lightingcouncil.com.au
