  • Love this thought leadership article on designing workplaces of the future. Core considerations; what kind of added value must office buildings offer employees in the future and what role does digitalisation play? What constitutes true sustainability in the context of New Work? How do we juggle the trend for individualisation on the one hand and the desire to make the working environment easier to monitor and compare through standards and certifications on the other?   Insights from a range of experts who participated in a roundtable discussion in May last year, facilitated by Zumtobel Lighting. It’s a good read. The "Double Dynamic Lighting" study, led by Prof. Ellen Kathrine Hansen, investigated how light intensity, light temperature and light direction work in harmony with the dynamics of the sky and the natural incidence of daylight.  The results of the study show how different lighting conditions can influence room atmosphere and comfort. Particularly exciting is the finding that a combination of directional and diffuse ambient light, in harmony with the measured intensity of daylight and cloud cover, can improve visual comfort, subjective perception of atmosphere and engagement more than uniform, diffuse light. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e-ZC7jYX  Switch on your mind. • In 2018 Energy Ministers agreed that minimum energy performance standards for Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps would be introduced in Australia under the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Act 2012 (communique available here). These regulations are close to being finalised.   The Dept of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is holding information sessions on the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) registration system. The department recognises that some LED suppliers may not be familiar with the GEMS product registration and regulation system.   The small group sessions will take you through the registration process for compact fluorescent lamps. And you can ask questions of technical experts on the proposed LED minimum energy performance standards. Info sessions are on 5/12/24. For further details email info@lightingcouncil.com.au
