Our #AGM is now under way at Everything Open, and President Joel Addison is touching on key developments in the community. This year has seen Linux Australia auspice the most events ever. He especially notes the great work of PyCon AU Steering Committee members who are stepping down. He also flags the disruption in the #WordPress community and the challenges this has presented and thanks the Council for their efforts. See our Annual Report for more info.

Kiwi PyCon: Gearing up for 2025 https://lnkd.in/gYrJKehW Kiwi PyCon 2024 – our 13th Python conference since 2009 (https://lnkd.in/g4tqBpra) – was an amazing three-day event with 219 participants enjoying 4 workshops, 22 presentations, a live coding competition, 2 inspiring keynotes, a panel discussion, a posters session and of course Lightning Talks (https://lnkd.in/gg4hTbFj). Check out the videos (https://lnkd.in/gd48Zehc), the photos (https://lnkd.in/gmn3-zKR) and the sponsors (https://lnkd.in/gSq64uht) of this conference. Kiwi PyCon 2025 will again be in Wellington – we are currently finalising the exact date and location. Want to help in 2025? We are all volunteers and many hands make light work, so we are always looking for more people to join the crew! Maybe you can help with our social media posts, organise volunteers, manage a social event at the conference, or maybe something we haven’t thought of yet! If you’re keen to get involved, email us at kiwipycon@python.nz or send a message to @Chelsea Finnie on our Slack (https://lnkd.in/gEiB9aiP).
