Lion’s Indigenous & Reconciliation Partnership Manager, Dr Todd Phillips recently took time out of his family holiday to Japan to visit the Kirin Head Office. Todd delivered a presentation to the HR team, sharing insights into Lion’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and our ongoing Reconciliation journey. The presentation explored key aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, and the historical and ongoing issues faced by Indigenous peoples globally. As part of this cultural exchange, Todd presented a traditional Aboriginal wooden artifact to Takeshi Minakata, President, and COO of Kirin Holdings Company. The artifact, crafted from gidgee wood and hand-engraved with designs inspired by Lion’s Indigenous Advisory Council member, Dr Leslie Phil Duncan’s homelands on Kamilaroi country, was a meaningful gift from Phil. It symbolised the deep connections between land, culture, and reconciliation. This visit exemplifies Lion’s commitment to sharing our reconciliation story on a global stage, fostering meaningful relationships, and promoting cultural awareness.
