Last week our Senior Player Safety Lead, Matt Stephen, and Brand and Campaign Manager, Ruby Broun, represented Lotterywest at the 2024 National Association for Gambling Studies Annual Conference on the Gold Coast. The conference connected academics, policymakers, industry leaders, clinicians, counsellors and people with lived experience of gambling-related harm, providing an invaluable opportunity to examine gambling-related harm in Australia and the latest best practices in identifying, preventing and minimising it. Lotterywest is proud to hold Level 4 Responsible Gambling certification from the World Lottery Association (WLA), the highest level provided, and we work hard to continuously improve our responsible gambling measures across all areas of the business.

Our Vision is to create a hopeful, healthy, connected and sustainable community life for all Western Australians.
About us
We operate a responsible and sustainable lottery that leaves an enduring positive impact for WA. Established in 1932 as the Lotteries Commission and offering its first lottery in March 1933, Lotterywest is the official State lottery of Western Australia and is set up as a Government entity. Thanks to Western Australian players who purchase these games, and the hard work of over 500 retailers who sell them, we’re able to raise funds to support Western Australian hospitals, sports and arts groups, and thousands of community groups across the State. Lotterywest has proudly supported the community for over 90 years and are committed to our vision for a hopeful, healthy, connected and sustainable community life for all Western Australians.

Returning for another Mental Health Week wellness booster, our four legged friend Oakley the Therapy dog provided plenty of tail wags and cuddles around our Lotterywest office yesterday. It's a timely reminder for everyone to look after their own mental health and wellbeing, and check in with those around us this week and always.

On Tuesday afternoon, we hosted a sundowner event at Lotterywest Head Office to farewell and thank Professor Peter Klinken AC as he retires after a six-year tenure as Board Chair. We also had the opportunity to welcome Karen Brown as Lotterywest’s new Chair and Dr Guy Singleton to the Board. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all and a great opportunity for Board members and staff to connect. Professor Peter Klinken AC and Karen Brown are pictured here with Lotterywest CEO Colin Smith.
