  • Victorian Early Childhood Services and Providers! 📣 Did you know that you can access up to 25% of your school readiness funding as flexible funding to access specialty programs and customised educational programs not found on the menu? “Services that receive over $5,000 in School Readiness Funding may spend up to 25% of their funding flexibly on programs and supports not listed on the menu. Items purchased using flexible funding must: • align with the three priority areas or a local priority • address educational disadvantage • address the needs of the group of children in the service.” - Victorian Department of Education This allows you to ensure that your children, families and educators are getting the contextual support and targeted programs they need to thrive. We can support services throughout this process, to identify and design the right program or support. Alternatively, services can use their normal school readiness funding to access the coaching menu item. At Making Education, we have approved coaches who can support services and educators to thrive. As part of our coaching packages, we can include and incorporate other programs, resources, supports and materials that assist services and their families to achieve their identified priority areas. “Coaching is a structured process based on an ongoing relationship between two or more people for the purpose of professional learning and improvement of professional practice. Educators and service leaders can work with a coach to improve their curriculum planning, pedagogical strategies and assessment techniques, and other aspects of practice particularly focused on school readiness funding priority areas identified as important for their context.” - The Victorian Department of Education With the next round of School Readiness Funding about to commence, it’s never been a better time to work with Making Education to receive the programs or support that you and your services needs. • Another Lifesaving Community First Aid Session all finished up! It was great to work with some families of a nearby Early Childhood Service to teach critical life saving techniques and responses. This 45-minute session draws upon elements of the full First Aid (HLTAID012), but removes all the homework and extra requirements, to just focus on providing hands-on real-world opportunities for families. Taught and delivered by a qualified trainer, this non-accredited program is a real winner amongst childcare and early learning providers. Together, we can make a difference, by making it different! Hear what some of the families said about our program: “It was fantastic, She was extremely thorough, informative, hands on and fun. In the hour, Claire managed to cover multiple topics and went through scenarios with the group.” “Claire was excellent and very clear, and it was great information and really helpful to have a go with the dummies and other equipment. Even though I did have quite a bit of prior knowledge, it was still great to learn new things and get confirmation on what I knew.” If this sounds like something you would like to provide to your families, then reach out to the Making Education team today!
