  • Job Opportunity with Port Authority NSW, based Botany. Are you ready to embark on a dynamic career in maritime compliance and planning? Seeking a passionate individual to fill the role of Shipping Support Officer – Compliance and Planning based at Port Botany reporting to the to the Deputy Harbour Master/ Manager Compliance and Planning.  This role supports the Harbour Master team in the execution of port safety functions as required by the Port Safety Operating License (PSOL) with a primary focus on compliance, planning and port governance. Role Description: You’ll facilitate the planning, administration, and management of marine projects and events.  You’ll assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Port Marine Management System (PMMS). You’ll generate insightful metrics and reports to support the Harbour Master team. You’ll ensure compliance with dangerous goods (DG) obligations outlined in the PSOL including training requirements, auditing, and administration of fines.  You’ll provide logistical and administrative support during incidents. You’ll be flexible to provide support in various areas within the Shipping Support team when required. What you’ll bring: Qualification in an Incident Management System (preferred or willingness to obtain) International Maritime Dangerous Goods Qualification (preferred or willingness to obtain) Experience working with operational datasets using Power BI or similar systems. Experience in a port operational environment or similar would be desirable. Demonstrated ability to assess technical information and interpret regulations.   • Compliance Manager Role, Port Authority of NSW This is a newly created exciting role reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, based in Sydney. The position involves facilitating the design, implementation, management, and ongoing assurance of the Compliance System, overseeing day-to-day operations, and aligning structures with organisational needs. Here’s how your impact will truly count: You’ll manage a Compliance Review and Implementation Project, integrating amendments into the existing Compliance System and ensuing alignment with internal, state, and federal regulations for activities, products, policies, and documentation. You’ll collaborate with the Legal, Enterprise Risk, operational teams, audit, and experts for an integrated approach to compliance management. You’ll support operational teams in regular reviews of compliance obligations, controls, and treatment plans, fostering ‘line 1 risk ownership’ for regulatory and compliance risk. You’ll design and manage control systems to record and remediate compliance violations and maintaining compliance hubs, communications and training materials and deliver internal training. You’ll provide assurance for 'Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance' risk management and support the business with compliance reporting including annual declarations. Requirements What you’ll bring: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Compliance professional in industries such as ports, cruise, transport, property management, logistics, or similar. Preferred formal qualifications in Compliance Management, such as a Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management (10131NAT) or a Diploma of Quality Auditing (BSB51615). Expertise in designing, developing, delivering, and training in compliance management frameworks, including policy/procedures, governance/oversight programs, and assurance programs. Strong relationship management skills, particularly with senior management and subject matter experts. Proficiency in using a compliance management platform and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
