Our teams are empowered to experiment and try new ways of getting things done. So when our plant team wanted to streamline the maintenance of millions of dollars of our assets, they brought their ideas to the team at aquipa who were already providing us with software solutions. Together over 18 months we worked closely with the devs at Aquipa to build, test and refine a new plant maintenance functionality for their existing asset management platform. Today, every Martinus vehicle and plant has a QR code that once scanned provides access to user manuals, schematics, schedules, risk assessments, operating conditions, parts lists, maintenance history, and fault history via an app on their handheld device. Having every document digitised and available in one place now saves our workshop team time that was spent filing and searching through volumes of reference materials and paperwork. Now they get to spend more time getting their hands dirty fixing things. With the strict regulations in construction and even stricter requirements of rail having an all-in-one solution for documentation and maintenance makes ensuring we’re compliant much easier. We’re proud to work with Australian companies like Aquipa to develop transformative workplace tools. #Martinus #TheMartinusWay

  • Works are ongoing on our Stacey Street bridge site in a live traffic environment, with hydro demolition of the concrete kerbs almost completed ahead of the installation of new safety barriers for Sydney Metro. Our designers and engineers opted for hydro demolition, which uses high-pressure water, instead of traditional methods that increased the risk of damaging the bridge’s load-bearing structures. After demolition and preparations are completed, we’ll pour new concrete barriers along the length of the bridge, bringing it up to Sydney Metro safety standards. This is just one of the 15 bridges we’re upgrading as part of the conversion of the Sydenham to Bankstown line to metro. #Martinus #SWM4 #SydneyMetro

On February 7, 2025, I had the privilege of returning to Nasele Catholic School in my village, Nasele, Waidina, Naitasiri, where I completed my primary education (1994 - 2001). It was an honor to donate five smart TVs to support the students and teachers. Education opens doors to the future, and I hope this contribution enhances learning for the next generation. Grateful for the warm welcome from the students, teachers, parents, and committee - giving back to my community is truly fulfilling.

Andrew “Drifter” Sotiros got his nickname from his love of cars, his multi discipline background, and his habit of turning up to the site office covered in dust before disappearing back to the field. Now, as a Quality Manager on Southwest Metro, he is making sure the 15 bridges and 66 non bridge locations we are delivering for the Sydney Metro Metro Sydenham to Bankstown upgrade meet the highest standard. “From earthworks and civil construction through to structural steel fabrication and bridge construction every step needs to be verified by a competent team. We have an extensive team of Chartered Engineers & Qualified Inspectors to manage the execution of our work and bring in accredited third-party inspectors at key intervention points to confirm that what we have built matches the design. We document the process from start to finish, ensuring that nothing is left to chance.” Drifter is also digitising quality management, cutting through red tape to make approvals faster, data capture sharper, and handovers more seamless. “Digitisation has opened up a whole new world. We are making quality management more streamlined and efficient, ensuring records are accurate, accessible, and built into project delivery.” A smarter approach to quality that keeps us moving forward. #Martinus #TheMartinusWay

Over the weekend, Wanda Surf Life Saving Club hosted the 2025 SLS Branch Championship, bringing together surf lifesavers from across the region to compete, connect and showcase their skills on the beach. At Martinus, we are proud to continue our sponsorship of Wanda SLSC, a club that has been at the heart of the community for decades, training future lifesavers and keeping our beaches safe. With our roots in this area, we’re always happy to support the organisations that strengthen our communities. Just like in rail, teamwork, resilience and precision are key to surf lifesaving and we're stoked to back a club that embodies these values. 📸 by Glenn Duffus. #Martinus #TheMartinusWay #WanadaSLSC

Everyone loves a good barbecue, including our team working on the Southwest Sydney Metro who’ve been firing up the burners every month and cooking up some locally-sourced meat. The Happy Family Butcher in Belmore is a family-owned business that’s been a cornerstone of the Western Sydney community since the ‘80s and is just around the corner from one of our site offices. Known for their generosity, they’ve built a strong reputation for giving back, supporting local initiatives, charities and community groups of all backgrounds. Our team of 1,200+ across the country is built on strong connections, not just within our projects but with the communities we work in. While we rely on industry suppliers to build world-class rail infrastructure, we also make a point of supporting local businesses that are the heart of these regions. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee or cooking up a feed, we believe in embedding ourselves in the places we work. #Martinus #TheMartinusWay
