We are grateful to all of industry for all the effort and support for the Construction Plastics Recycling Scheme, which gives new life to valuable PVC off-cuts that would have been otherwise discarded to landfill. We now have recycling bins in 40 locations across Queensland, making it even more accessible for plumbers and tradies to do their part. MPAQ CEO Penny Cornah and PIPA Executive General Manager Cindy Bray have been busy in the last months visiting industry stores and partners across Queensland to check in on their PVC Recycling bins and efforts. Check out our recent visits to Gatton, Alexandra Hills, Toowoomba, and Ipswich! Find your nearest bin: https://lnkd.in/gzmc--vA

In Queensland, a floor waste is not mandatory in a Class 1 building. However, where a floor waste gully is to be installed for the purpose of receiving discharge from waste fixtures, they must be installed according to NCC 2022 guidelines. Last week was another busy week of advocacy and representation for MPAQ. MPAQ CEO Penny Cornah and DCEO Ernie Kretschmer met with the new Minister for Housing and Public Works, the Hon Sam O’Connor MP to discuss key issues impacting the plumbing and gas industry. We were also honoured to have the Hon. Steve Minnikin MP, Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business, join us at the IMD Trade Show and Breakfast at Beenleigh.

Our hearts are full! 💖 With the support of everyone who attended our key events throughout 2024, we were able to raise $17,500 to support the good work of TIACS and provide mental health support to Australia's blue-collar community. Thank you to all our members, industry individuals, and partners for helping us fund this very important cause. ✨ Let this be a reminder for us to always check in with our mates. Each year, we select a charity to support at our events. Voting is now open for the MPAQ 2025 Charity Partner. Make your voice heard: https://lnkd.in/gD5by7Jk
