A little Kitchen & Cafe 🧑🍳 update for you! We are at lockup! It's very exciting to see the building taking shape and the idea of having a shiny new commercial kitchen on site here at Botanical is going to be game changing for our chef Vlad! 🥗☕️⁠ We will be using this building to host cooking classes, workshops, preserve garden goodness 👨🌾 and eventually have hopes to open the cafe to the public!⁠ ⁠ We are still tossing up on a name - any ideas? Please help us!! Join us for an evening with Danny McCubbin to celebrate the launch of his debut book THE GOOD KITCHEN: LOVE AND CONNECTION THROUGH FOOD. The book is a joyous memoir and collection of recipes and stories from the lively and purpose driven world of the author. ⁠ ⁠ An inspired journey, Danny @dannyforgood has oriented towards social connection and food sovereignty. This book recounts his journey, life lessons and human connections opening the Good Kitchen in Sicily, after making the move to this provincial area in 2020 from London. Danny’s vision, modest assets and public standing (having worked with Jamie Oliver for 17 years) have created the unique context for him to lead a philanthropic life, eventually developing a community kitchen alongside locals, where the redistribution of food waste/surplus into delicious meals is the beating heart of The Good Kitchen. ⁠ ⁠ Material Institute had the pleasure of connecting with Danny earlier this year and can attest he is a gifted, charismatic storyteller, generous in spirit, he’ll light up the room with his buoyant resourceful humility.
