Mind Australia is proud to sponsor this year's Western Australian Mental Health Conference 2024 (26-27 November). The conference provides collaborative opportunities for people with lived experience, clinical staff and non-clinical mental health workers to share resources, perspectives, and best practices. The theme for this year's conference is Solutions in Motion, which gives practical expression to what we want the future of mental health in WA to look like as we work towards a recovery-oriented and community-focused system. The Yoorrook Justice Commission is looking into injustice experienced by First Peoples in Victoria since colonisation – injustice that happened in the past and things that are still happening now. We all do better when we listen and acknowledge the truth of our past and present, and we all have a role to play in shining a light on injustice experience by First Peoples. As a community mental health organisation, we understand that delivering truly culturally safe, responsive mental health services for all Victorians requires commitment to reconciliation with our First Peoples. By coming together to acknowledge injustice and resolve differences, we can create a shared future for all Victorians. By sharing your experience and making a submission through the link below, you will help Yoorrook create a public record of this injustice. It will also help the Yoorrook Justice Commissioners recommend much-needed changes to systems and laws. Submissions close on Friday 22 November - https://bit.ly/3OgtEPX #MakeASubmission #MakeHistory #TruthTelling
