We at Modern People Global are joining Zach Mercurio, Ph.D. to make this “Gratitude Month” truly meaningful. While 90% of us feel grateful for those around us, fewer than half actually express it. In workplaces, only 15% regularly say “thank you.” This “gratitude gap” often comes from underestimating the impact of a sincere acknowledgment. Meaningful gratitude isn’t just saying “thanks.” It’s about affirming people, showing them how they made a difference not just that they made one. 💭Is this the fix we've missed? Replacing a leader can cost up to 200% of their salary, but much of this turnover risk is preventable. The solution? Recognition. Gallup and Workhuman found employees receiving high-quality recognition are 45% less likely to leave. When recognition hits four or more strategic pillars, they’re 65% less likely to job hunt. So, how do we stop the talent drain? Recognition that’s personal, purposeful, timely, visible, and inclusive boosts engagement and keeps employees connected. Yet only 22% feel they’re getting enough.
