  • Had a fantastic time attending the Australia Malaysia Business Council Victoria Chinese New Year Yum Cha event—great discussions, new connections, and a fun experience tossing the Lohei (捞起) prosperity salad! A big thank you to AMBC Victoria for hosting such a wonderful event and thanks to Smart Planning and Design for the invite. Looking forward to more collaborations this year! #Networking #ChineseNewYear #Lohei #Collaboration #BusinessGrowth

Smart Planning and Design was proud to be a sponsor of the Australia Malaysia Business Council Victoria Chinese New Year Yum Cha event yesterday—a fantastic afternoon filled with great food, lively conversation, and meaningful connections. One of the most exciting moments of the event was the traditional Lohei (捞起), where each table enthusiastically tossed up yusheng to welcome prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of collaboration and success! A special thank you to everyone who joined us at the SPD table: Janette Chow, Jacob Vince, Mavis N., Negin Vaez, Wayne Asher, Linda Xu, and David Tong. Your presence made the event even more memorable, and we appreciate the opportunity to share this experience with such a fantastic group. Looking forward to more networking opportunities and collaborations in the year ahead!

  • What a week! It has been a big week of networking for MODUS. Wayne Asher took Neill Phillips down to his old stomping ground in Bendigo for the Industry Capability Network Bendigo Regional Showcase Event, followed by a visit to the team at Tomkinson. Wrapping up the day with some barefoot bowls fun at the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) event in Port Melbourne. The week ended with a celebration at Flemington Races, where Wayne caught up with his local network to mark a milestone birthday, all while opening new doors for future collaboration over a cold one! 🍻 Here’s to another week of building connections and pushing the traffic and transport engineering industry forward! #Networking #Modus #Engineering

Exemplifying this is our commitment to honing an element of wellbeing each month and applying our learnings to become better people, partners and workers.   February is all about Relationships in the Workplace and their impact on our overall well-being. Strong, positive relationships— with colleagues, managers, clients, or even family play a crucial role in creating a healthy and productive work environment.   We are focused on:   ✅ Building meaningful colleague and manager-employee relationships ✅ Maintaining professional connections with clients and customers ✅ Balancing work and personal relationships, including friendships and family ✅ Avoiding common challenges like miscommunication, neglected workplace relationships, and conflict ✅ Managing work-life balance to strengthen overall well-being   Below are some key relationship types and a tip on how to foster healthy dynamics in each:   𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: These relationships thrive on mutual respect, trust and communication. Challenges like miscommunication or boundary issues can be resolved with active listening and collaboration.   𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿-𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: These relationships are inherently hierarchical and based on trust, respect, and open communication. While managers provide guidance and resources, employees rely on support and feedback. Transformational leadership and open dialogue address challenges like power imbalances or unclear expectations.   𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁/𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: These relationships are built on providing value, meeting expectations, and ensuring satisfaction. These relationships depend on professionalism, empathy, and communication to meet expectations and build trust. Balancing client demands with organisational priorities ensures productive, mutually beneficial outcomes.   Initiatives & insights like these help us remain socially aware in our interactions with each other—and, most importantly, allow us to develop & maintain long-term relationships with our valued clients.

  • We at Modus Transport and Traffic Engineering have partnered with Reforest to plant trees for every project we successfully completed over the holiday period, with the goal of offsetting our carbon footprint.   Each tree is planted on behalf of our valued clients, symbolising our appreciation for their trust and collaboration, acting as a physical representation of our blossoming relationship, and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability. This initiative is more than just a holiday gesture—it's a testament to our core values of social responsibility, innovation, and positive impact.   These trees also contribute to us offsetting our carbon footprint as we work towards net zero. These 100 trees will remove 9000kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere simply by existing. They will also provide 1,400m² of repaired habitat for the endangered red tailed black cockatoos who call Wimmera home.   Reforest works to restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to the fight against climate change through large-scale tree planting and community-driven environmental projects. We're proud to support their mission, knowing that each tree planted is a step toward a healthier planet.   At MODUS, we are continuously striving to improve our services and make a meaningful difference, not just through championing safety, but through being environmentally conscious in our projects and initiatives, contributing to a greener future for all.   Thank you to all our clients for helping us make this initiative possible. We look forward to our ongoing tree planting efforts and are excited to see just how many we can get in the ground! #MODUS #Engineering #Sustainability

The last piece of the James Street puzzle    We’re thrilled to reveal our plans for an A-Grade 18-storey commercial office at 88 Robertson St in the heart of Brisbane’s James St precinct.   Goldfields is a big believer in the future of the Brisbane office market and our investment in the precinct will breathe new life into the undersupplied CBD fringe.    Our CEO, Lachlan Thompson, said the project would fundamentally change the inner Brisbane office market through the provision of approximately 16,000sqm of new commercial office space with end-of-trip facilities, rooftop restaurant, ground floor café, winter rooms, and street level landscaping: “Our vision for this prime site is to create Brisbane’s best commercial office building outside the CBD. 88 Robertson St will deliver the last piece of the James St puzzle by combining a premium professional address with an exceptional food and beverage offering within walking distance of one of Australia’s most prominent retail and lifestyle precincts.”   “88 Robertson St will be the ideal location for tenants seeking a bespoke experience focused on convenience, connectivity, and a holistic approach to health, fitness, and work.” Thank you to our development team and project partners for their efforts on this landmark project. We look forward to sharing more updates soon.
