  • ♻️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌞 Solar power has revolutionised energy generation, but as installations grow, so does the need to manage end-of-life solar panels sustainably. In Australia alone, solar PV waste is projected to reach 100,000 tonnes annually by 2030. At Moerk Water, we’ve seen first-hand the advancements in solar technology, with panel efficiency increasing by 50% over the last decade and costs dropping significantly. However, as older panels are replaced by higher-capacity systems, recycling must become a priority to avoid unnecessary waste. 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: Only 17% of solar panels in Australia are recycled, primarily the aluminium frames. The rest often ends up in landfill due to high recycling costs. 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: New technologies now allow panels to be ground and separated into glass, silicon, and precious metals like silver and copper—cutting recycling costs by 50%. Reuse is another solution, where older panels are redeployed in less efficiency-critical locations. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Sustainable design isn’t just a goal; it’s a necessity. As part of our mission, Moerk Water designs renewable-powered water treatment systems with components that are both efficient and sustainable. We believe in solutions that not only serve communities today but also protect the planet for tomorrow. Let’s work together towards a truly circular solar economy. #Sustainability #SolarPower #Recycling #RenewableEnergy #CleanWater #CircularEconomy #Innovation #MoerkWater #CleanWaterWhereYouNeedIt

  • 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝘂 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗲𝗿𝗸 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿-𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗨𝗩 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 We’ve received a brilliant update from Kiru, where our solar-powered UV LED water treatment system is making a real impact. Not only is the system providing the community with clean drinking water and water for irrigation, but it’s also generating an income stream. By selling the excess treated water, the community now has a sustainable way to fund maintenance of the water system and invest in improvements for the entire village. This is a real and current example of how renewable-powered solutions can empower communities beyond just meeting basic needs. That's the Moerk Water way—combining innovation, sustainability, and community resilience. #CleanWater #Pacific #PNG #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #CommunityImpact #Solar #MoerkWater #CleanWaterWhereYouNeedIt
