Last week, we had the honour of hosting the Honourable Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, India’s Minister of Education, and his Australian counterpart the Hon Jason Clare MP, Minister for Education at Monash Innovation Labs. The large delegation of visitors, which also included members of the Indian High Commissioner, were greeted by Monash University Vice-Chancellor and President Sharon Pickering and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and Senior Vice-President Professor Craig Jeffrey. The delegation, led by the Director of Monash Innovation Labs, Professor Adrian Neild, toured the Monash Smart Manufacturing, Smart Processing and Smart Infrastructure Labs before meeting with senior members of Monash Innovation Labs host companies ElectraLith, Proton Intelligence, Jupiter Ionics and Enzide Technologies and members of our student teams including Monash Nova Rover, Monash Motorsport, Monash High Powered Rocketry (HPR) and Monash Human Power. ✨ Yesterday we were thrilled to host members of IPWEA Victoria for the Smart Infrastructure Workshop at Monash Innovation Labs. We heard from David Hallett, Professor Yiannis Ventikos FREng MA PhD, Professor Professor Michael Kennedy OAM, Professor Hai Vu, Dr Yihai Fang and Tim Mumford CPEng EngExec as they discussed the infrastructure of tomorrow, and demonstrated innovation in action with tours of our Smart Manufacuring, Smart Processing and Smart Infrastructure Labs along with the renowned Monash Makerspace, home to our student teams including Monash Sustainable Buildings 🏡 Keenan Granland, Matthew Willaton, Michelle Willis, Shankar Cumarasamy GAICD, Marc Pizzi, Yoni Sharon, PhD, Katharine Smith 🙏

✨ This week we were delighted to host key Economic Development teams from a range of local councils including City Of Monash, City of Kingston, City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong, Yarra Ranges Council, Knox City Council, Mornington Peninsula Shire, City of Stonnington and Cardinia Shire Council for a guided tour of the vibrant ecosystem of startups, companies and advanced laboratories and workshops that make up the Monash Innovation Labs. 🤖 Our guests visited the #SmartManufacturing Lab and explored capabilities in #digitaltwin technology, #robotics, #AI and additive manufacturing that our available to our industry partners and resident companies. 🚶♀️ At the #SmartInfrastructure Lab they observed live data feeds capturing people movement and temperature and learned how this data can be used to improve management of buildings and public spaces. 💡 The group also visited the Monash Makerspace and saw some of our bright Monash student talent showcasing their skills in various STEM fields and finished up their day with a tour of Monash Food Innovation under the guidance of Rodney Heath and Rod Arenas. A big thank you to Gill Di Pasquale for bringing together your colleagues from various councils together for this tour. It was great to meet you all and we hope to keep the conversations going.
