Enabling businesses to innovate by engaging with Monash research expertise, talent and world class facilities.

About us

The Monash Innovation Labs are a place for businesses to design, experiment and innovate - utilising Monash expertise, student talent and world class facilities. The Monash Innovation Labs (MIL) (formerly the Monash Smart Manufacturing Hub) were founded in 2020 by Professor Adrian Neild, Deputy Dean of Strategic Initiatives at Monash Engineering with a focus on bringing together industry and Monash research talent to drive innovation in Victoria’s manufacturing sector. We are still the home of smart Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Processing facilities designed to drive digitisation across all sectors. Our passion is to enable businesses to turn their blue sky ideas into commercial reality. Businesses can partner with us through talent and research programs such the Industry Doctoral Program, the Industry Innovation Program and the Co-operative Education Program. Industry partners can also choose to license wet labs, workshops and offices in over 1027sqm of space. The Monash Innovation Labs support all kinds of businesses on their journey to innovation, from start-ups to medium enterprises to companies.
