Did you know that the manufacturing sector provides jobs for over 1,500 people in our shire? To keep those numbers growing, we need to ensure there’s enough suitable industrial land for businesses to thrive and expand right here in our community. We’re working to create a strong plan to provide for the sustainable growth of our industries, and we want your feedback. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/gt87t5xA and provide your input by Friday 6 December.

We have a target to achieve zero-net emissions for Council operations by 2025 ♻ We have and are continuing to make some big changes as an organisation so we can reach our goal, including switching to renewable energy to power our buildings and lighting, transitioning our fleet of vehicles to electric, and much more. The next step is for us to offset any remaining, residual emissions. We’ve developed a draft Carbon Offsetting and Drawdown Policy, which outlines our approach to do this. Have a read and let us know what you think before Monday 18 November. You can also meet our Climate Change Coordinator, Brendan Garrett, to find out more about the project by stopping by the Castlemaine Library on Saturday 9 November from 9.45am to 11.00am and on Tuesday 12 November from 3.00pm to 4.30pm.
