Congratulations to the ACRF Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis Centre (ACEMID) team on a powerful, productive and engaging Researcher Workshop. There's experts in dermatology, AI, melanography, epidemiology, health economics, project management, I.T., behavioural science and so much more. It's an incredible group that's leading the world's largest skin imaging trial. We're proud to partner with the ACEMID team and we're excited about the work that's underway that we hope will lead to a targeted national screening program for melanoma and skin cancer. #ACEMID #MSCAN #skinimaging #clinicaltrial #melanoma #skincancer

MSCAN joined patient organisations at the Australian Patient Advocacy Alliance (APAA) Summit in Canberra last week. It's a great opportunity for us to lift our sights beyond our specific health issues to all types of health conditions and to engage with policy makers. A couple of key takeaways: 🎯 The importance of prevention and early detection. Whether it's cancer or any other health issue. Primary healthcare remains critical. 💪 The value of collaboration and alliances. 🔊 The importance of advocacy. Continuing to push to ensure lived experience is incorporated into all policy decisions and the healthcare system. (Pictured here, L-R with Melanie Funk (Eczema Support Australia), Agnes N. (Australian Sickle Cell Advocacy Inc), Tamara Dawson (MSCAN CEO), Deidre Mackechnie (Exec Officer, Australian Patient Advocacy Alliance), Adam Lynch, BEAT Bladder Cancer Australia).

It's going to a BIG year for MSCAN and our advocacy efforts 🎯 We wrapped up 2024 with our Start of Summer BBQ with the Parliamentary Friends of Melanoma & Skin Cancer Awareness. Check out the SBS news coverage. We will share a couple of highlights from the event over the coming week. We're focused on listening to, representing and informing the skin cancer community from early detection through to coping with a serious diagnosis. We're championing equitable access to healthcare. We're working hard to encourage more funding for research, clinical trials and a committed advocacy approach.
