The Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct (The Code) is set for a significant update, with the draft expected to be released in early 2025. The updated Code aims to improve collaboration between the insurance and repair sectors while addressing key industry concerns. After an independent review by Dr Michael Schaper with guidance from the Code of Conduct Administration Committee (CAC), the updated Code was drafted by MST Lawyers. The draft Code will soon be shared for broader industry feedback, providing an opportunity for professionals across the automotive sector to have their say. As the federal election approaches, we’re focused on advocating for meaningful changes that empower automotive businesses. One key priority: Updating and strengthening the Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct. With around 4,500 body repairers across Australia, many face challenges due to unfair demands from insurers, creating an imbalance that impacts businesses and their customers alike.
