The Central Coast’s EV charging network is expanding with 17 new sites and 30 charging points, funded by the NSW Government's $20 million EV Destination Charging grants program. This initiative is designed to support the growing number of EVs traveling to regional destinations, making it easier for locals and tourists to charge across the state. With more than 1300 charge ports set to be installed at 500+ sites, this expansion helps boost tourism and supports the transition to cleaner transport. A new study by the NHVR revealed 52 per cent of learner drivers don’t know how to drive safely around large vehicles like trucks and buses.

The Australian Government and NHVR have announced $4.2 million in funding for industry-led road safety projects under the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative. This funding aims to improve road safety through projects focused on safer drivers, vehicles, and road use. With over $41 million already invested in past rounds, this initiative is making a significant impact on reducing road trauma and enhancing freight network efficiency.
