What an incredible week! 🚀 The Navi team just returned from a jam-packed, week-long tour across the U.S., where we exhibited our technology at a leading conference, met with manufacturing partners, and engaged with clinical teams about upcoming studies. ✅ We kicked off with a hugely successful showcase at the Association for Vascular Access conference in Denver, where we proudly demonstrated the Neonav® ECG Tip Location System to a global audience of vascular access professionals. The response was phenomenal – from NICU nurses and vascular access team leaders to neonatologists and major device manufacturers, we were blown away by the enthusiasm and interest in our technology. ✅ After AVA, we connected with our manufacturing partners to discuss plans for pilot and scale manufacturing, moving us closer to bringing this technology to market. ✅ We also visited top hospitals to advance discussions on upcoming clinical studies, continuing our commitment to solving critical challenges in neonatal and pediatric vascular access. We're continually inspired by the passion and dedication of the healthcare professionals and industry experts we meet. Together, we’re pushing the boundaries to make a lasting impact on the most vulnerable patients. A big thank you to everyone who visited our booth and shared their thoughts. If you missed us at #AVA2024 or want to learn more, feel free to reach out at info@navitechnologies.com – let's work together to elevate the standard of care for critically ill newborns. 🌍👶 *The Neonav® is pending 510(k) clearance and is currently not available for sale within the United States #AVA2024 #medicaldevices #NICU #PICU #neonatalnurse #nurse #pediatrics #innovation

Great to see Associate Professor Christiane Theda raising awareness about the critical need for catheter surveillance and migration detection in newborns at this years #AVA2024 conference. It was encouraging to see how strongly this topic resonated with the crowd, sparking engaging discussions that continues throughout the conference. The presentation discussed a recent study conducted at The Royal Women's Hospital, which highlights the importance of improving catheter management to enhance safety and outcomes for critically ill neonates. At Navi Medical Technologies, we're committed to developing solutions that will enable clinicians to detect catheter migration in real-time, ensuring safer central venous access for these vulnerable patients. This important work underscores the necessity of innovation in pediatric care, and we’re excited to be part of this movement to improve outcomes for newborns worldwide. #NeonatalCare #AVA24 #nicu #picu #nicunurse #medicaldevices

On this day 8 years ago, this photo was taken to capture the moment Navi was founded as a company. As we set out on our mission back in 2017 to raise the standard of care for critically-ill newborns and children, we couldn’t imagine that we would have grown into the company we are today. A BIG thank you to everyone who has supported us and been a part of our incredible journey to date … a journey that is only just beginnng! Happy birthday to the founding Navi team! (Christiane Theda is missing from this photo but was certainly with us every step of the way!) #dreamteam #medicaldevices #pediatrics #innovation #madeinmelbourne

🔥 Hot off the press! New large Australian study identifies 'urgent need to improve practice' in newborn central venous catheter procedures. Umbilical catheters play a crucial role in the care of critially ill newborns, but are associated with significant risks. A newly published study conducted in an Australian level-VI NICU sheds light on the high incidence and risk factors associated with Adverse Events linked to umbilical venous catheters (UVCs) and umbilical arterial catheters (UACs). 🔍 Key Findings: 1. High Incidence Of Adverse Events: The study found that a staggering 71% of UVCs and 43.8% of UACs were associated with Adverse Events, ranging from catheter repositioning through to serious patient safety issues. 2. High Incidences Of Malposition: 60.1% of UVCs and 32.6% of UACs were identified as not being properly placed or positioned (malposition). 3. Increased Risk Factors: Longer dwell times, particularly ≥7 days, were significantly associated with increased risk of UAC failure and UVC migration (movement to suboptimal location). 💡 Implications: The high incidences of Adverse Events underscore the importance of taking proactive measures to mitigate risks associated with umbilical catheters, including adopting regular monitoring practices. Changes in clinical practice informed by these insights are crucial to enhancing patient safety and reducing complications in NICU settings. 🌟 Takeaway: Doctors and nurses are 'doing the best they can with what they've got', but there is a strong need for new technologies to improve these lifesaving procedures for newborns in intensive care, and mitigate incidence and risk factors for Adverse Events associated with umbilical catheters. The use of emerging novel non-invasive technologies, such as the Neonav® ECG Tip Location System, will enable clinicians to achieve improved catheter insertion positioning and surveillance, ultimately leading to reduce instances of Adverse Events and improved patient outcomes.
