  • We’re reaching out to our NAWIC SA Construction Community as the year comes to a close to wish you a joyful, peaceful, and safe holiday season filled with rest and rejuvenation. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors, supporters, collaborators, and the dedicated SA Chapter Committee. Your tireless efforts drive meaningful change in our industry, fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for women in construction and their allies. Wishing you all the best this holiday season—we’re excited to share everything we have planned for 2025! #nawic #nawicsa #womeninconstruction

  • NAWIC represents a large community of women working in the Australian construction industry, as well as those that have formerly worked, or are considering joining. We know that women in construction face higher barriers of entry, progressions and fulfilment compared to their male peers and counterparts. At NAWIC, we are exploring ways to provide practical and tangible support for our members as they navigate these barriers, and the unacceptable and sometimes unlawful behaviours that come along with them. We know as a result of our Not so Little Things Affecting Women in Construction Survey, that over 81% of women face microaggressions in the workplace. One of the barriers which has been highlighted as a result of the report is that women are fearful of speaking up about this behaviour, women are not sure of their rights within the workplace, and worry about the consequences, including potential loss of employment. NAWIC is aware that our members are looking for legal advice and support in these times. On this basis we are introducing a new legal advice hotline for NAWIC members. This hotline will connect members who are concerned they are being treated unlawfully with a qualified lawyer who can provide up to one hour of tailored legal employment advice at NAWIC's cost. This included support for those who have been: 🚫 Sexually harassed, 🚫 Discriminated against at work, 🚫 Underpaid or not paid properly, 🚫 Denied access to leave or other entitlements, 🚫 Denied access to flexible working arrangements, 🚫 Fired from work unfairly, 🚫 Bullied at work. We have nominated Holding Redlich to provide this service to our members. To access this service please email nawic@holdingredlich.com with your NAWIC membership number, or call Holding Redlich Associate - Alexandria Anthony a call on 03 9321 9753. If you need support accessing your NAWIC membership number, please contact our team at admin@nawic.com.au. Please note that Holding Redlich are required to keep any information disclosed confidential and will not be providing this information to NAWIC or your employer.
