There is only one month left to submit an application for round 10 of the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI). ⏳ The #NHVR is looking forward to continuing to support industry-led projects through round 10 to ensure those who have a role in the heavy vehicle industry, including drivers, operators and road managers, can help shape it's direction and future. Not only have previous HVSI projects helped to reduce road toll by improving safety within the industry, but they have provided the tools and resources needed to support a more productive and efficient freight network and keep Australia moving. Applications close at 5pm AEST 17 February 2025. Apply now 👉 https://lnkd.in/eTvTDGF

#NHVR South Australian Safety and Compliance Officers conducted "Back to Work" Toolbox Talks with Fulton Hogan teams at depots across the state - a great refresher for staff as they returned from their Christmas breaks. The talks covered a range of topics including Chain of Responsibility, fatigue and load restraint and were really well-received. We look forward to continuing to promote safety in more organisations across SA during the year.

Great to have our Victorian #NHVR Safety and Compliance Officers come together in Bendigo late last year to celebrate their achievements since heavy vehicle services transitioned to the NHVR in late 2019. 🙌 Teams shared their learnings from the year, insights from different industry events they attended and the positive changes they've seen since the Victorian transition. It was also a fantastic opportunity for NHVR Director - Southern Region Paul Simionato to present certificates to new recruits, badges to staff, and medals from the Emergency Services Games. 👏 Congratulations to all NHVR team members who have helped make the Victorian heavy vehicle industry a safer place over the last 5 years. We look forward to seeing what the next 5 bring!

📢 The #NHVR has now released the first two modules in the Access Essentials series to provide education and resources that support local authority road managers when making heavy vehicle access decisions. Local authority road managers play a critical role in freight and network productivity as well as asset management, and these modules will help to further improve their capabilities by explaining the basic engineering concepts behind bridge and culvert assessments, demystifying the asset assessment process and giving insight into how to interpret engineering reports. At the end of last year, #NHVR Safety and Compliance Officers Colin, Ian and Emily attended the Nhill Trailer Exchange heavy vehicle safety event to chat with heavy vehicle owners and drivers. The team gave shaker and scales demonstrations each day and had many educational conversations with attendees on all things HVNL, NHVR and industry. Big thanks to the Horsham Rural City Council and Hindmarsh Shire Council for hosting such a fantastic event - it's great to see so many operators participating in events like this to help improve safety within the heavy vehicle industry. 👏

This year some of the #NHVR Stakeholder Engagement Vehicles got a facelift with new First Nations Artwork. The artwork, designed by First Nation artist Dylan Sarra, reflects safety, productivity, sustainability and regulatory capability and is part of the 2023 launch of the NHVR's first Reconciliation Action Plan. The artwork is just one of our commitments to reconciliation, which also includes connecting with First Nations employees and customers to ensure the NHVR’s Reconciliation Action Plan is relevant and meaningful to the industry and people in which we serve.
