2024 is almost over. We’ve worked hard on incredible projects, hosted a variety of events for the game dev community, and much more. It’s been a busy year! 🐎 To celebrate, we’re taking a look at what we’ve been up to: 🐨KoalAR, an educational AR mobile game made with Symbio Zoo. In KoalAR, kids explore the environment to take photos of AR animals, unlocking quizzes to learn more about local fauna. There were two parts to this project, the mobile game as well as the online portal for teachers, allowing custom content. 🏡Life Ready Games, an educational mobile game for visually impaired children to learn essential life skills. With various minigames, UI consideration and hand drawn illustrations, we worked closely with Vision Australia to make sure this game was user friendly and fun. 🎮Porting! We helped port several incredible indie titles to PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch this year, letting more players enjoy them! These include Pat Naoum's The Master's Pupil, Hojo Studio's The Godfeather: A Mafia Pigeon Saga, and Shawn Miller's Omochapon. 🛠️We helped out with several projects to make sure they were in a good state prior to release, ranging from McDonald's Monopoly and Surprize Fries campaigns to indie titles like Vivink Studio's Ailuri. 💜 💃In addition to the above, we hosted several events for the game dev community, contributing what we can to Sydney's vibrant scene! With WIP Nights, Games Exchanges, Waypoint Constellations and more, it's heartening to be able to support our fellow developers! We look forward to more in the new year! 🐎 Happy Holidays everyone! 🥳The Games Exchange is being funded! 🥳 Noble Steed’s Games Exchange is being supported by Screen Australia’s Games Festivals and Events Fund! We are incredibly grateful to receive Screen Australia’s support, and look forward to helping even more gamedevs through this funding opportunity. The Games Exchange is a series of events where we bring games from our neighbours to Australia, and vice versa! In collaboration with developers from other regions or sister industries, we showcase international indie games locally for playtesting and feedback. In exchange, we send off a curated list of Australian games to showcase on their end. Back in May 2024, we collaborated with OutCrowd Malaysia and several other developers from Malaysia to showcase Australian and Malaysian games from both regions. Now, we’re excited to partner with more regions and sister industries with the Fund’s support. Through this, we hope to facilitate the exchange of cultures through games as an artistic medium, strengthening relations between Australian and international developers. All whilst promoting the creativity and playfulness of games made in Australia internationally. In addition, we’d like to extend our thanks to Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA), for providing upcoming Games Exchange venues, MSI Australia for supplying equipment, and all the game developers that will be involved in the future! Our next Games Exchange will be in collaboration with game developers from the Philippines on 6-7th December. Specifically, our friends from Indie Games Group Philippines and MEE Games !
